  1. Agreed. They should have started on the renovations years ago instead of wringing their hands about the loss of the hub.
  2. ^ Yes, downtown Cleveland was certainly on a roll from late 80s - mid 90s.
  3. Ravenna probably would have been too far away, at least for most travelers from the Cleveland area. But Medina might have worked.
  4. Back in the early 70s, there was talk about building a new airport. No, not the one in the lake. They were considering Ravenna and Medina. A shame that didn't happen. A new airport could have replaced CLE an CAK.
  5. "...which they hope will be paid 50/50 by public and private sources". Keep dreaming, Jimmy.

Similar here. I'm 5'11" and about 190 lbs and considered overweight. I think my target weight is supposed to be about 170. That isn't happening.
  7. Oh, I thought those were hotels, restaurants and retail establishment.

And 5,322 were on hand n Saturday night to set another new high attendance mark for the Charge.
  9. Is there a daytime rendering available? The nighttime rendering is the only one I've seen. It doesn't look like there is enough parking.
  10. And they will continue being a sad, pathetic team until the albatross is gone.
  11. It must have taken a whole 1/2 day to construct that.

Charge playing at Public Hall tonight at tomorrow at 7:00 pm.
  15. The $3B estimate for CLE is for all phases of the project. Subsequent phases will commence only if passenger levels surpass a certain threshold.
  16. I remember it well. I skated there quite often in my youth. Rich Broglio at the organ. I also skated at the Rollercade on Denison Ave as a very young child in the early 60s.
  17. We'll be expecting a detailed report.
  18. Roller skating was a good way to meet a member of the opposite sex. My future parents met at Skateland on Euclid. Are there any roller rinks left in NE Ohio?
  19. There are now lots of events planned in the week before Super Bowl Sunday. How many people are going to want to spend a week in Cleveland in the middle of February?
  20. If Cleveland had pro sports teams that won championships more frequently, there would be parades more than once a year.
  21. Apparently they will be in that shared office for quite a while.
  22. I thought I heard that not all will be moving because there is not enough room. Is that correct?
  23. The loss of so many office workers hasn't helped. Some permanent, some due to WFH. But it looks like companies are trying to get the WFHers back to the office.
  24. A couple years ago, the Crunch was considering a downtown venue, either Public Hall or Wolstein, but apparently couldn't work out a deal.
  25. I also did the survey. The questions seemed rather odd. I thought they would be mostly related to the terminal redesign. The problem with CLE is it is shoehorned into a small space. Very unlikely they could do anything like Portland, unless they were to acquire some available land nearby. 😉 It is maddening that other cities are building new airport facilities while we wait... and wait...
