Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Maybe they are afraid homeless people will be sleeping on the benches. I suppose the welcome center will be an improvement over a parking lot, but it will still be an embarrassment. As for research center, it would have been nice if they could found a location within Cleveland (Opportunity Corridor?) or maybe Highland Hills which I believe has a tax sharing agreement with the city of Cleveland. I assume they got a sweet deal from Brecksville.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
^ Right. Hopefully, the parcels north of Frankfort will be developed soon after the completion of the SHW HQ. As for the second tower, who knows if or when that will happen. That parcel could be surface parking for a long time.

Cleveland: Population Trends
What about all those out-of-state license plates we were seeing during the pandemic? I thought people were leaving NYC and other large cities and moving to Cleveland.

Well, there's always annexation. Perhaps it's time for Cleveland and East Cleveland to start talking again.

Ohio: Fortune 500 Companies Updates & Discussion
Dayton lost NCR to Atlanta in the 90s. I believe they lost another big one, but I don't remember who it was.

Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
Of course. And it will have to be taller than SHW, at least 700'.

Ohio: Fortune 500 Companies Updates & Discussion
Sorry @brtshrcegr but it is something that cities like to brag about. I'm old enough to remember when Cleveland ranked 3rd in the country on Fortune 500 behind New York and Chicago.

Ohio: Fortune 500 Companies Updates & Discussion
Congrats to Cincy for leading in Ohio. I had thought Cleveland would be on top this year wirh the addition of Cliffs and I also thought Cincy had lost a couple. I'll have to compare with last year's list to see what happened.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Right. As I recall from the last workshop, phase 1 of the master plan will not get started until after passenger numbers return to the pre-pandemic level of 10 million. They estimate that will not happen until 2024, with construction starting in 2026. That is unfortunate since phase 1 addresses issues that should have been addressed years ago.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I assume there are not very many old buildings in downtown Charlotte. But we are digressing. Any estimate on when SHW tower will be going vertical?

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
^ That's a real head scratcher. Couldn't they have put the "welcome center" on top of the parking garage? Then they could have sold the Jacobs lot. An upscale hotel on that site would have been perfect. For a company as frugal as SHW to put such an underwhelming structure on one of the most expensive sites in Cleveland and only utilize 2/3 of the site just doesn't make sense.

I don't think we will be seeing Dan in a soup line anytime soon.

I was hoping they had decided to add a few more floors to the so-called Welcome Center, but no dice.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Guardians swept by the lowly Reds. Only 3 hits today. Nice game by Tyler Naquin. I wish he was still with Cleveland.

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
A shame that Pierre's was sold to an out-of-town dairy manufacturer and distributor. Hopefully, that will not impact the Cleveland location.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
With 20 trains or more per day, I'm guessing there could be 2 or more trains arriving at about the same time. I assume the lakefront can only handle 1 train at a time currently. Is that a potential problem for a lakefront station and would Tower City be better suited to handle that?

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
I agree. It seems like they are trying to squeeze too much into that space.
