Urban Ohio LOGO Design Contest!
Is there a specific look/feel you're going for, MayDay? What is it about the old one you don't like anymore? I'm just trying to figure out what direction you want the identity of this site to go in.

My feet are tired.
This is a pretty crisp building.

A Weekend Fling with Cincinnati
If only we could get the population stats back up to early 1900's...

"Matinee at the Bijou" (d8n)
Agreed. This looks a little different than you'd usually see.

Show a pic of yourself!
Well, I'll post me. I didn't want to for a while because you lose your anonymity a bit but what the heck.

Dayton Skyline Time, Suckers!
Yeah, I'm not sure if there's a way to get around there without risking your life. It may be possible though. Here's the spot ColdayMan is talking about from 35. Definitely a pretty choice pic. I wish Dayton had some neon logos on the tops of the buildings. I miss Mead. It gives a city a little character and pride. I love the new Macy's sign in Cincy. Does anyone know if Caresource will have one?

Cincinnati: Historic Photos
There's been some changes but not as many as I expected. As mentioned, thank God that nasty building at 5th and Vine is gone and Fountain Place in there now! What were they thinking?

Around The Globe Preview
Those Manhattan shots just seem fake. It's incredible a place like that even exists outside of SimCity.

1000 Posts? Logged in for 9 Days and 50 Minutes?!
I never really looked closely at your number of posts. I thought it was in the 2,000 range not 20,000...Each finger must be the size of a normal man's arm after all that typing. Grasscat you inspire me to reach for greater heights in my life. As for me, 2 days, 5 hours and 30 minutes. Not impressive but I did a lot of lurking before signing up.

Hamilton! - Gallery 23 - High-Main Bridge
Dang, what a bridge. I hate to say it but I like it better than the previous bridge. I really like those "balconies" it has. Too bad that Roebling-looking bridge isn't still around though. Does it still say "Hamilton - Ohio" along the river?

Dayton Skyline Time, Suckers!
How romantic…

Dayton Skyline Time, Suckers!
I wish I had taken this pic. It was from the Metropolitan website. Definitely one of the best pics you're going to find of Dayton. I'd die to have the hi-res of this and frame it. One pic that I'm surprised I never see is downtown with the Hydrobowl in the forefront. I meant to get one the other day…

Dayton Skyline Time, Suckers!
This is from the balcony at Thai 9.

Dayton Skyline Time, Suckers!
Okay, and here's this one. IMHO the best angle you're gonna get (though this isn't the best shot of it). Jeff's shot from DAI is giving it a run for it's money though. It shows most of the buildings clustered together really well. Too bad 40 West 4th isn't showing.

Dayton Skyline Time, Suckers!
Dang PigBoy, I remember seeing those pics along time ago on here but I gotta just say that those are some pretty ridiculous shots. Still not my fav angle of the city but you caught a ton of drama in the lighting. Jeff, nice spot. Once again, I wish I knew more about the westside. Is Germantown St. as steep as 3rd or Burkhardt? I can't understand why Dayton doesn't have grand homes with views of downtown on the few hills that it does have.

Dayton Skyline Time, Suckers!
Move this if it's the wrong spot… I'd like to invite everyone to show photos of the Dayton skyline from their favorite vantage point. Well, it doesn't even really have to be your favorite I guess but let's see it! I got the idea from these comments http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=13556.0. I'll get you started with this usually missed spot. I'm not sure this is my top but it is one of the best. It's from a street around Orville Wright Elementary and Smithville. disclaimer: I photoshopped a light post out of this photo. 5/3 Tower was behind it so you'll notice it's missing from this pic.

C-bus - Italian Village
I wish I knew more about Columbus. Nice pics. Reminds me a lot of Oregon District in Dayton. It's nice to see there's some high quality infill going on. The cyan and the amber house look awesome.

Pre WWII Kettering..A Plat Too Far.
Oh and Elsa's is the best.

Pre WWII Kettering..A Plat Too Far.
I know I'm 2 years late but that rocked. I like charming little houses like many of those.

West Dayton Greenbelts
This idea is starting to grow on me, Jeff. I really like the thought of lookout points.

Dayton's oldest surviving shopping center--McCook (+ one or two others)
Dang, that was awesome in a disgusting way too.

Kettering's changing socio-economic complexion (D8N suburbia)
Kettering is such a mixed bag. The Woodman Dr. area of it is so vastly different from the Ridgeway Rd. area. Woodman really isn't too bad though. I'm glad they're being so aggressive about redeveloping defunct shopping centers. I really want those 1st ring suburbs to hang on because if they can't Dayton doesn't have much of a chance!

Dayton Germanfest, now on Fairgrounds Hill!
I haven't been to the Fairgrounds in a long long time. That last pic is a view you don't see often (or ever really). Looking at it kinda reminds that I've always thought it's weird that there aren't any taller buildings east of Main St. It just abruptly ends. I just like a nice evenly proportioned skyline. Cincy's is a great example.
