The "Generation Gap"
Yeah if someone is going to archetype they should be as specific as possible.

I bet they like that too.

Hmmm, I can imagine that Amazon especially wants to be in the movies so it can have lots of Hollywood-style losses to apply to other business entities. Probably why Gulf-Western bought Paramount BITD.

The "Generation Gap"
What is it with blue-collar Boomer males having to make a big entrance wherever they go? The yelling, the loud Harleys and trucks, the AC/DC blasting, having to speak loudly every time they enter a room with others in it, commenting on what people are doing at the time. Do they think they're wrestlers? I used to think it was just an Appalachia thing but now it seems more widespread.

Housing Market & Trends
Our guest room when I was a kid theme was peacocks. Peacock wallpaper and tailfeathers in vases. If you think just some solid color paint is expressing yourself the 20th century has something to show you. If a dwelling was plain inside that meant it was a rental.

There's also no motivation to pick one genre over another since none are dominant and everything is available to everybody.

And all the wallpaper and paneling seen pre-Y2K looks too busy and noisy on the phone. Plus that stuff slows down construction and remodeling, so blankness looks "new" and detail looks "old".

The other thing with video games is that they get $50-60 a piece new and are still worth something used. This isn't going to last much longer though. A new DVD can still get $25 in the right setting but that plunges to $3-4 once it is opened.

The music business is spread out over so many acts as compared to the old days too so nobody gets rich except shareholders.

Doug DeMuro moved to San Diego because of rain. Filming in the rain obviously sucks and people didn't want their cars out in it. California might lose people to taxes but California picks up others because of rain.

Columbus: Downtown: Convention Center / North Market Area Developments and News
GCrites replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction^What would happen is that after events ended is that the platform would fill with vehicles wanting to load out through that ramp in the middle. The garage is supposed to ease that crush. It was pretty chaotic. I haven't worked in the building since Battelle Hall got converted into a ballroom though.

I can't even tell if something was built in 2006 or 2020, interior-wise. Everything after 1998 or so all looks just white to me.

Hmm so OTR studio prices have stagnated but 1-3BR continue to appreciate still? Or is it more like 2BR+?

Peak Oil
Commodity prices are more concerned with today as compared to stock prices.

Sounds bad for renters overall but good for people sick of dealing with beach bums around town who have been living for cheap in these rentals for 25 years or whatever.

‘Thank God I Voted Absentee In Whatever Dumb Ohio Town I’m From,’ Say Brooklyn Residents ...echoing the sentiment of thousands of fellow Brooklynites who were either from Grafton or Granville or maybe Gallipolis in noting their vote would matter so much more when it was counted alongside the hayseeds and townies they grew up with. https://politics.theonion.com/thank-god-i-voted-absentee-in-whatever-dumb-ohio-town-1845372277

Other States: Passenger Rail News
Ask Eisenhower; when he saw them tearing up the outskirts of D.C. to put in the interstates he was like "what the hell is this?" and an aide said "That's your interstate highway system sir." Nowadays if you have enough power to create something like that you don't get to see it finished because you die first.

Maybe they're trying to make it so nice that you can't put rail back in.

Leaving it gravel would keep the 2mph riders off though

^If they do that, I'll definitely get my house in Indian Hill remodeled so that it looks just like the ones in the magazine.
