  1. Unfortunately, spite isn't effective if the people in question can't tell they are being spited.
  2. NIMBYs don't look at numbers -- they go with their gut. Or they give numbers with no context. Let them have their 1972. Maybe Howard Johnson's and Bill Knapp's will come back. Then someone will open an ice cream parlor AND a candy shop.
  3. Looks like a good place for Magnum to have a beer with T.C. and Rick.
  4. For some reason I never saw this building like this, but it definitely has a Harrisburg Pike vibe
  5. The layout was quite good. It would have been pretty easy to create decent urbanism with only a few major changes.
  6. Yeah in greybrown with Nu-Metal and Gregorian Chants
  7. Oh then it's like do you want to stay in the Star Wars Room, the Care Bears Room or the Play-Doh room?
  8. I hope M.A.S.K. gets their royalties. Is it a good time to bring back M.A.S.K.? I'd say so.
  9. Welcome to the party, pal, most other cities have suburbs that are in bad shape. The lack of suburban decline in Cincinnati warped people's minds into thinking suburbia could do no wrong. It's like "just have them drive through Middletown" but they don't do it.
  10. So these big companies that couldn't get PPP money (or only got it on their first 500 employees) are filing these Ch. 11s while the smaller companies are floating on PPP, EIDL and other state and local loans but may face the Slayer in 2021 or 2022. I actually was planning on closing or selling my business sometime in 2020 (the decision was made back in 2018), but the virus and PPP forced me to stay open.
  11. What do you think is responsible for the gulf between the increase in Ch. 11 and decrease in total filings?
  12. Method of propulsion and who is driving aren't that important from an urbanism perspective. It's the fact that each car takes up 160 square feet of expensive land. In places where land is worth almost nothing it doesn't matter. That's why bus garages and railyards are in the cheap part of town.

I should have been more clear -- I meant young when the Radiohead records came out. So Pink Floyd, Genesis and Yes were already in their 40s by the mid-'90s.

Progressive Rock made by people who weren't old at the time
  15. ^I would never have guessed the incident was caused a rural male from that specific age group.
  16. But if you want to put in a used car lot that's OK.
  17. ^Think of all the cold beer illegally smuggled into Indiana
  18. President Barack Hussein Obama Avenue
  19. Oh wow, I guess since we haven't killed almost all of our wildlife like Europe has some degree of fencing is necessary.
  20. Or seeing the giant roadkill splats on the front of 200mph trains in Europe after you debark.
  21. Yeah, rural "swappin'" for one. "Horse Sense"
  22. Oh don't worry, it already has. This country needs actual jobs, not just "work".
  23. I feel like those Pepsi machines would have Jeff Gordon on them in 1997.
