Personal Finance / Investing Thread
There's a difference between selling coins and jewelry to the "Meltdown People" vs. the Retail Seller. Meltdown Guy sends everything off to a wholesaler who pays X per ounce for it to be melted down or is going to sell it themselves. Always already has a buyer for everything that's not costume or coins worth face. Gets to pay a standard rate for everything. But Retail Seller poor-mouths like, "Oh, how long will I have to sit on it?" "What if I can't find a buyer?" "This jewelry is out of style" and has to engage in all kinds of funny business to get rid of it.

Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
^Sounds like someone hasn't been in Columbus in a while. Whaley gets far more positive press here than Cranley.

Groveport: Developments and News
Groveport’s Main Street plan embraces past and future On Aug. 24, Groveport City Council approved legislation authorizing City Administrator B. J. King to enter into an agreement with Miller Valentine Group at a cost of $153,870 for Phase 2 planning for the redevelopment of two vacant, city-owned parcels in downtown Groveport. This follows the first phase, which began earlier this year, that included the creation of conceptual designs and preliminary cost estimates for two new mixed-use buildings: one to be located at the northeast corner of Front and Main streets next to Ace Hardware; and the second at the northwest corner of College and Main streets. The city will be the developer for both sites. https://www.columbusmessenger.com/groveports-main-street-plan-embraces-past-and-future.html

Groveport: Developments and News
The minigolf course and driving range above were demoed this week. Right now the clubhouse/arcade is still standing. Maybe it will be integrated into the extended stay development as an office, clubhouse or poolhouse (maybe all 3). There's a lot more grading to be done to get rid of the large mound of dirt that the minigolf course was on.

Accents
Here's the same host working on a show here in Columbus two years prior. Columbus Goes Bananaz got moved out to New York and became America Goes Bananaz and the kids' show from the KISS clip. Hear some vintage Columbus accents when they talk to the kids at 3:41. But alas, those vintage Columbus accents sound more like West Virginia than expected -- or as expected.
