I think it's because too many people are basing their personal finance and life decisions based on these sensationalist videos.

It'd be nice to get Mallory back. I didn't know Cincinnati allows term-limited mayors to come back after some time off.

Cincinnati: Housing Market / Affordable Housing
I don't think the real estate market is looking at a long-term dip or freefall, but yes in the short-term things are doing to be down. Anyone forced to move at this time by work or other life circumstances is in trouble since people aren't making any changes that they don't have to. That looks like a professor's house just by the location and the decor. Obviously a lot of professors are subject to moves. Real estate is a flight-to-quality asset class in the absence of issues within the overall real estate market such as those seen in 2008. One of my neighbors just moved out at midnight on Saturday since their house sold. I was thinking "what a terrible time to move" since it's going to be hard to eat a decent meal or entertain yourself at home during your downtime with all of your stuff packed up and utilities not turned on yet. But yes, any holdout is not going to get their max while construction stops.

I'm not sure what you mean. Without supply only scalpers make money. Supply lags demand in emergencies.

US Economy: News & Discussion
The economy needs supply. With a global supply chain even if we recklessly kept going the supply of parts, materials etc. sourced from other nations would still dry up fairly quickly and many things would stop anyway.

Driverless Cars
The Failure Of This Self-Driving Truck Company Tells You All You Need To Know About Self-Driving Vehicles While competitors expended effort adding machine learning-based features such as enabling trucks to change lanes on their own, Seltz-Axmacher said he threw resources into safety engineering. The company was the first autonomous trucking company to submit a Voluntary Safety Self Assessment to the U.S. Department of Transportation. But a problem emerged: that safety focus didn’t excite investors. Venture capitalists, Seltz-Axmacher said, had trouble grasping why the company expended massive resources preparing, validating and vetting his system, then preparing a backup system, before the initial unmanned test run. That work essentially didn’t matter when he went in search of more funding. “There’s not a lot of Silicon Valley companies that have shipped safety-critical products,” he said. “They measured progress on interesting features.” But it isn’t just safety tech that venture capital isn’t interested in, according to Seltz-Axmacher, it’s possibly the entire idea of investing in autonomous vehicles period. That’s because VC firms have been dumping money into self-driving startups for years now and starting to realize that maybe this whole self-driving thing isn’t around the corner. https://jalopnik.com/the-failure-of-this-self-driving-truck-company-tells-yo-1842417033

A lot of U.S. automakers don't want to highlight how many parts come from China and how the supplier factory shutdowns earlier this year there have affected their ability to build cars.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
We might actually be getting some insights into the profitability of various products at these different restaurants. If one just stops everything there's a better chance that they were making all their money off of drinks while being near breakeven on food. Whereas a place that's still banging out takeout and delivery has a better margin on their food.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
^So I circled back around to see what went on since I was bored (like a lot of us right now). 10 minutes later the deputy came out and moved the car. It was on that part between 5th and 6th where the tracks move from the right lane over to the second from left. Basically I think the deputy didn't realize that the streetcar is wider than the tracks so the left side of the car was still blocking the streetcar.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
I think a lot of today's quirky people are far less self-aware than ones from the 20th Century. Back then, even people who were slightly unusual were made to feel very weird due to monoculture. People with self-awareness knew immediately about their quirks and embraced them while being very particular in how they handled it around others and to be as properly-socialized as they could. Once the internet hit people were able to find communities for anything and everything. Between increased screen time (and it's accompanying social isolation) and not thinking you are weird even though you are actually very weird a phenomenon emerged.
