Forest Park: Forest Fair Mall / Cincinnati Mills Redevelopment
Made it all the way to May 2024. Most of those warehouse project cancelations happened in 2022-early 2023.

Not to mention the horrible politicians and how lonely it can be to be the only person around who went to college.

Appalachia is also a degree-in-the-trash type place unless you work remotely or can find something in the public sector.

The Future of America and Its Cities
Housing in Cleveland is still double what it can be in Appalachia. I remember being at SSU and when the students from Cincinnati suburbs found out they could stay in Appalachia and buy a house for $50k after teaching a couple years of middle school they took it. They had seen their parents struggle to pay off the 250k mortgage their folks had in Anderson or whatever and saw a way out.

GCrites replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionAt least they're 3BRs. The market doesn't supply nearly enough of those anymore and when they do it's expensive.

Columbus: Linden Developments and News
GCrites replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThat's the issue in Linden once you get away from Cleveland - with all that SFH with big yards around it's harder to get even a 5-over-1 built like you see in the older multifamily-oriented neighborhoods.

Ohio: General Business & Economic News
Because red state anti-intellectualism repels college graduates and not everyone wants to have to be a roofer for a living. Republicans didn't do anything to keep white-collar jobs from fleeing to the coasts since they want people who went to college to leave.

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
If colleges would just allow people to have the traditional 4-year college experience with the full general ed program while learning a trade the trades wouldn't have so many problems attracting people. People don't want to have to marry someone from high school at 19 because they will never be around another member of the opposite sex ever again.

It's a lot easier to for each location to turn a profit overseas because a city of two million has 10 locations instead of 150 like they do here.

Well yes, I voted in it. I should have said an uncompetitive primary.
