Columbus Crew Discussion
It's interesting to watch how the league has gone from trying to look like other American sport to adopting the conventions of the rest of the world's soccer teams.

Cincinnati: Corryville: University Village
Somewhere on here somebody said it was a Builder's Square home improvement store, I think.

Cincinnati: Corryville: University Village
They're always talking about how business-savvy they are. If they could get that electrical substation across from their Oakley building moved they could build something really impressive there. It's not like anybody's going to try to save their old Builder's Square or whatever as a historic church. And their members would follow them over to their new church in an old Service Merchandise.

Cincinnati: Corryville: University Village
There's several movie theaters around Columbus that rent out to churches on Sundays. I'm sure it's solid low-risk cash on a traditionally slow day, but of course those theaters aren't currently in a position where they would be interested in selling. Was that one theater that's now a church off 275 just north of 32 still open when the church bought it?

Columbus: Downtown Main Library and Ohio Deaf School renovations
I don't even know what goes on in the Carnegie part any more. It seems mostly off-limits. Haven't really been in it since the 1991 work. I remember working on a presentation about nosebleeds in the basement during the late '80s.

Or rather, lack thereof. In this case, "snob appeal" from the world of marketing creeps into the science of economics.

Riding a motorcycle in interior Cincinnati is very dangerous. I usually tried to get out of town as quickly as possible. Too many ways for cagers to make mistakes with all the constant lane changes required in town.- Columbus: General Business & Economic News

Oh I can totally see the Browns question causing a stir. That whole article was about how the Browns didn't tell him anything: http://grantland.com/features/chuck-klosterman-draft-day-cleveland/- Columbus: Random Development and News
LOL, anchorless malls. I guess it sounded like a good idea at the time, like New Market mall. Maybe people thought that since Lane Ave. Shopping Center did well while it was enclosed that they could get away with it. But the restaurants and Micro Center were the anchors.- Fashion Police
I've read all his books and lots of articles and would certainly like to attend a talk. By now he can't be cheap either; 10-20K at least. I remember he put his personal phone number in one of his early books and told people to call him if they wanted to talk about KISS, though he was probably up for other conversations including ones about Midwestern mid-major college basketball. But what was the initial topic?- Fashion Police
What was this talk about? Dio?- Hipsters
It is true that hipsters do flee Ohio in droves and are generally concentrated in in small geographic areas of Ohio cities such as OTR, the Downtowns, the Summit/4th/Indianola belt, Orgeon District etc. Though in Columbus there do seem to be some displaced hipsters in strip mall bars on like 161 and Bethel. It may be due to the sheer number of those kind of establishments around town.
