It does take quite a few views. That's one of the first things I ever saw on Youtube. It made me realize the site's potential.

I'm not really a Mesa Boogie guy but mid boosting is what those amps are good for. Really that's what you're supposed to do; the mids are where guitars are on their own with the bass and drums taking up the other frequencies. But metalheads backed out of the mids to make thier guitars sound like the thrash metal bands. Especially when you get into the late '80s and that super thin production that emphasized the guitars, snare and cymbals. I'm trying to think of the name of that song that's big on the radio now where it goes "I'd rather be alone..." and you don't really know if you're hearing a sportbike rolling on the throttle or someone with a slide or a whammy bar (or all three).

During War Pigs Ozzy just got to sing whatever since the record wasn't out yet and people were feeling it, mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Those aren't the demo lyrics either. I bet hipsters like this though:

No opportunity for men to cry if it lasts all season.

In Clapton's book he said that he moved from German Village to Dublin to get some more space. He turns up at Woodlands Tavern in Grandview from time to time to see bands. Clapton's wife is from Columbus and they spend holidays here. He doesn't like our winters.
  8. Ours goes 2 weeks but we only have the 8 camera system. A 16 camera system would go half as long with the same size hard drive (1TB). But if you're running a bar you want a monster system.
  9. Hipsterdom and nerdery are definitely hurting some of the old go-to looks of mass merchandisers such as logo wear, khakis and polos. But if a store can adapt using its current branding and locations, then it doesn't hurt anymore. Macy's does have that kind of New York appeal too.
  10. Oakley has been hot with YPs for quite a while now. It definitely can't be called cheap anymore. But what I've noticed is that to buy a house there is tough unless you are in real estate. a 1-2 bedroom house lists at 160,000 to 180,000 or more. BUT a lot of the people who want to live there can't get a loan for that much, although they can cough up $1200+ a month for rent. So if the houses had to sell to owner-occupants they'd only be worth $140,000 because that's all they could get. With Oakley being a streetcar suburb, there's plenty of single-familys under 1000 sq. ft.
  11. LOL, bootstraps. Get a hobby.

    ^Engineering consultants like it.
  13. No MSG, only good stuff
  14. Wait, does that mean all inline stores or just specialty in the mall lexicon? "Specialty" in the mall world means non-national inline stores, kiosks, restaurants and food court tenants that have sub 3-5 year leases. The store I own is a specialty tenant in a mall up here in central Ohio. So that wouldn't even include the Apple store for example because they are a national long-term tenant. If so, $300M is beyond massive.
  15. Indeed, the reason Groveport is so much nicer than it was when I was little is becuase it added so much commercial and light industrial. The population only increased by 1000 or so since then, but they were able to make all kinds of infrastructure improvements such as sidewalks, streetscapes and parks. Adding a bunch of residential instead would just make portable classrooms show up at the schools then the school system would have to beg the residents and the state for money. As if Groveport didn't have enough school levy problems already.
  16. Oh yeah, that thing. Looks like one of the buildings surrounding the fire station on Emergency!
  17. ^You mean Pullman Square or that little one off to the side of it with the rail car parked there? I like 'em both. Don't make me open a store in the Huntington Mall 'cause I'll do it! Maybe... might have trouble getting the old games traded in.
  18. There was a time when trash removal was costing us $8 a bag at our old location. We'd throw out 2 bags of trash a week and our share of the dumpster was $62 a month. I complained to the strip mall's landlord and got it down to "only" $4. A lot of times we didn't even produce that much trash but it didn't matter.
  19. Oh OK, they got rid of the little open ones from the 2000s then.
  20. Does Cincinnati still have the smaller 5 gallon or so recycle bins? That's not really enough; we have like 35 gallon bins up here in Seabus now. So if people are filling up that little thing fast then a lot of recyclables are winding up in the trash. I know we produce 3-4X as much recycling by volume as compared to trash. Columbus started taking away renters' 300 gallon trash cans because they weren't close to filling up. Now there's one 300 gallon per every 4 units rather than 2 and you share with your neighbors.
  21. As I have mentioned on this site before, women age 18-64 are the most important demographic in retail. Few decisions in retail are made with retired men in mind, so where that type of user likes to shop is largely irrelevant. That demo is important when selling boats, R/Vs and other low-impact outdoor items such as fishing rods though. I would survey kjbrill when deciding to locate a Bass Pro but not a women's clothing store. Notice that jewelry stores don't open up by muffler shops and speedways just because men are in the area a lot.
  22. LOL, or Jeg's colors without the yellow.
  23. Time to move this place! We are moving to the River Valley Mall in Lancaster. We'll be at the old 5XNW location about two more weeks then should be opening at River Valley around June 1st. I'll update further when it happens. We opened early at River Valley Mall, back on May 10th. Come on down!
  24. Obtaining a vendor's license and signing up with Ohio Business Gateway can be done in 30 minutes. I just did it again about a week ago. You can print out your own licenses now.
