I don't want to deal with an entire generation of unsocialized youth. And getting something like drywall done will be like $500 an hour because people will only know screen stuff.

  3. Remember in the '90s I think it was there was a topless women's march on the Statehouse. A bunch of strippers showed up too.

Those '90s alt-rock chicks were definitely pre-hipsters though.

At my high school you would have got your ass kicked for listening to that stuff.
  6. Yep, been there many times. These days I drive past almost daily. The wallpaper in the house reminds me of the farmhouse where my grandmother grew up in Monroe County.
  7. You'd think somebody that racist wouldn't even like the NBA let alone want to own a team.

Ohio is oversupplied with schoolteachers. That's why they bolt for North Carolina and the D.C. metro.
  9. I've led dozens of streetcar tours to Portland, and I can't recall ever seeing one. I bet they're well-hidden. For the final word, ask one of your contacts in Portland if they do have them and if they do not, try to find out why they don't need them.
  10. Hmmm I don't know, resistance is the big drawback of DC power. If you've ever tried to make a really big Tyco or AFX HO scale slot car track with only one power supply you'll know what I mean. For a more grown-up example, that's why cars need all those relays rather than being able to just run the wires straight through. I bet they do need the substations.

I lost cable at age 12 when we moved to the farm so my '90s MTV experience was very limited. I paid a buddy who had satellite $5 a tape to tape Beavis and Butthead for me. But my '80s MTV exposure was unlimited. I sure it helped me stay in Metal land and froze the music of my youth to Whitesnake, Priest, Maiden, Ratt and Ozzy. Other people my age consider the music of their youth to be 2Pac, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sublime. Not me. I'm positive losing cable had a massive effect on me as a person. I really like TV and movies when I was little but now I could take or leave them. I'm not happy unless I "do" stuff all day and become really impatient with TV after more than half an hour or so. Music is much more important to me. And I have trouble keeping on top of sports.
  12. Why is the road in front of the zoo banked more steeply than most NASCAR tracks built during the '90s?
  13. As a businessman I'd rather have 100 people out of their cars spending money in my neighborhood than 100,000 driving by spending it on gas instead. Remember that most money spent on gas leaves the area. High traffic counts mean nothing if the people never get out of the car.

She looks like a Democrat's girlfriend. As teenage Republican seeing this on Beavis and Butthead I was like "no way, give me a tan big-haired cheerleader".

    That was SOP back then.

That multi-class stock stuff is something that's taught in entry-level accounting courses but most people forget because it's not super common. The main reason though is that it's rarely in the news since individual investors cannot own it -- which of course makes for bad TV if you do talk about it.
  17. Evendale security is intense.
  18. People can also grow their own food but most still don't. That's like saying that the reason pot is/was illegal is that you can grow it yourself and the government and businesses wouldn't get a cut. But most people where it's legal buy it from a dispensary rather than grow it.
  19. I always wondered if that place has fraternities and sororities.

On a regular guitar, barre a D at the 5th position while strumming on the fretboard and you can sound like that too! Frankly at this point I think it's just laziness on the part of the commercial producers.
  22. A justified comment indeed, but don't bet on it. In some mysterious and malevolent way, Mike Brown almost always gets what he wants--and I, for one, believe that jmecklenberg's #7228 comment offers us reasonable insight why. The Schottensteins recently bought properties across from Cooper Stadium (the old Clippers ballpark) to make sure that no one would build tall buildings between I-70 and the automotive development center that they are turning Cooper into.

Metallica used to cover that one too. It kinda sounds like "Seek and Destroy" in parts.
  24. Time to move this place! We are moving to the River Valley Mall in Lancaster. We'll be at the old 5XNW location about two more weeks then should be opening at River Valley around June 1st. I'll update further when it happens. Bdbdbdbdbdbdbde That's all folks! Today April 5th is our last day at the old location. Remember June 1 at River Valley Mall! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hZrXdJ-ibo
  25. Yeah, if you moved to the 'Nati after construction started you can't really "appreciate" the giant dead zone that was for years.
