  1. That would also cut back on several of the most fun things about life in sprawl: having your mail stolen and bored teens smashing your mailbox. We have to have a PO Box down at the farm because that crap was happening way too often. So that means Mom's got to drive five miles each way to the post office. Such a worthwhile use of time and resources.
  2. The whole notion of a pension is indeed left over from the days when we were the world's only fully functional economy and there weren't robots and computers all over the place.

She's a symbol of tradition and continuity. Hell, if she holds on a couple more years she will be the longest serving British monarch ever. She never had to worry about being poisoned, drawn and quartered or beheaded.

Sorta like the poison pill Congress made the Postal Service take to make government look bad?

You always know you're getting the good stuff when you hear "Wake Up"
  6. People with money don't like to go out and get drinks?

The current Portsmouth bypass (Rosemount Rd.) requires people to slow to 25 mph for almost half a mile. And that's completely unacceptable.

Just because oil exists doesn't mean it's profitable to extract and refine at $108 a a barrel. There would be an unbelievable amount of oil available at $400 a barrel. But then there's little demand for it at that price level so nobody would go in and get it. Oil is not something that we can just go in and get with guns like we tried to in the Middle East. Companies that extract and refine it are NOT CHARITIES. They must turn a profit or they won't bother.

I can take those! Haven't had someone use one yet, though.
  12. I bet that they'll do a lot of business renting rooms to people who want to party in the SN without winding up in jail.
  13. Let's keep building more roads to save taxpayers even more money!

That feature never worked right for me anyway on multiple computers. If I clicked on "New" then it would just take me to the OP. Clicking on the text only took me to the last.

They aren't even all that. I dont get all the hype. I didn't think they were, although I've never had one. People wait an hour in line for them! They are idiots. Social Media can make or break anything for these 20 somethings who, the majority, have no true brand loyalty. Heh heh, not like the 20-somethings from 30 years ago who would nearly murder each other over Chevrolet vs. Ford.
  16. Still have it until my roommate leaves for the Army in a month or so.
  17. "Get those stupid cities outta here, we want to lend money to Forest Fair so that it can attempt a fourth comeback."
  18. Ahh, can't wait to look at the Port-A-John men's room door from the comfort of my couch in Columbus.
  19. You also have to look at the macro situation of the city or region. Akron's not in terrible shape or anything, but it's status as one of Ohio's fairly stagnant mid-majors doesn't lend itself to comparisons to a similar development in a fast-growing city.
  20. He calls KJP rather than Kasich's office.
  21. Pun not accepted. On track is the one that's overused; off track doesn't get enough love. I guess that's a good thing.
  22. ^That's the work of people who want to justify their long commutes and try to make their kids feel better about having to get on the school bus at 5:30 in the morning for a 1 1/2 hour bus ride each way.
  23. It's a joke. Like when people say The Interwebs, or The Google. Also, Facebook was "The Facebook" when I first joined. If Facebook was started in the '70s, it'd be called Spacebook... mannnn... and everybody'd talk about like, space.
  24. "why is Stryker so majestic"
  25. I just tweeted that. Excellent question! Sweet, I made tweeter!
