Re-reading the last few posts of this thread. Were you at the demonstration at the Statehouse in 2002 or 2003 to get college tuition increases capped at 6% again or the one where they wanted to tie post-secondary funding to primary and secondary funding ("K-16"). You might remember the K-16 one where all of the mascots from the state schools appeared. I was in the Shawn E. Bear suit from Shawnee State.

I suppose both systems expect streetcars to make up for that difference.

As a 6-year former resident of Appalachia and someone of Appalachian descent I can inform folks that there are a lot of things that you can't do down there that you easily can elsewhere. But it is a fine place to use marijuana.

OK, so they wouldn't have to jackhammer each wall in the living spaces for example since it's done with drywall rather than CMUs or laminated block like in a lot of college structures from that era. Discretion was the better part of valor in a time when it was often lacking in university construction (around Vietnam).

What are the Towers like inside anyway? As in do they lend themselves to another use without jackhammering a bunch of concrete? I haven't been in most OSU buildings... I've spent the most time in the Shoe and coincidentally The Drake.

I actually feel CPS would offer better opportunities than a lot of the schools in surrounding counties. Maybe not southern Delaware, western Licking, or SE Union but the rest of the semi-rural schools have bad networking unless you want to go into the skilled trades or healthcare.

I feel like it's another symptom of so few people interested in running for local offices these days as well.

You wonder if other states might allow that though due to the way their government works. Like in WV, if Governor Justice could follow the guidelines to override a vote by the citizens.

I didn't think Motil sucked or anything. It's, I think, people want someone inspiring since the city is growing a lot and has a lot of energy. And someone who actually acknowledges that we are missing good urbanism and rail transit instead of patting themselves on the back about growth despite the lack of those critical omissions.

Our surrounding states besides Michigan haven't done anything regarding rec yet. Some of them might do something soon but 1-2 of them might really drag their feet.

Probably. After the prison was demoe'd it kind of curved a little to meet the old Dublin Rd. which didn't make it to the rest of Dublin Rd. since its bridge got demoe'd for Spring-Sandusky.
