    That's hoarder behavior.
  2. Hmm, wonder why.

Not as bad as when Peter Criss didn't show up to one day of filming Kiss meets the Phantom of the Park. They just dressed up a black guy like him and still filmed scenes. It was really obvious. edit: there are conflicting reports on this, but there also may have been a point in the movie where Ace Frehley was also played by a black guy. A buddy of mine says he's seen Ace in that situation, but I've only seen Peter.

^"That gun doesn't even hold that many rounds!"
  5. The City of Columbus' large square mileage and large amount of suburban-style devlopment within the city limits is something that we just have to live with. It's expensive to service, especially in relation to the amount of property and payroll taxes collected per square mile. It does hinder the progress in our denser areas, but short of de-annexing expensive-to-maintain under-performing suburban-style areas such as residential portions of the Southwest Side or north of the airport, we do face more of a challenge than older cities that don't have to sink money into roads and sewers through sparsely populated areas with little redevelopment/gentrification potential. Jacksonville and Indy have to deal with it as well.

I dressed up like the eye patch guy from Airwolf (Alex Cord, who played Archangel on the show) last Halloween. Nobody knew who I was. I remember G. Gordon Liddy used to brag about this Corvette he had. He talked about the engine that he sent off to Italy to have it rebuilt for performance. What an idiot. The Italians cannot build a Chevrolet engine nearly as well as Americans can but they will charge you four times as much. That also meant the money left the country.
  7. I've seen ones where they put a tarp down and give each person their own pile of dirt to turn over.

Cell phones and Bluetooths are liberation for people who talk to themselves. Nobody thinks they're crazy any more when there's some tech device stuck to their ear.
  9. Sorta like that Looney Tune where Bugs and Yosemite Sam are each driving their own locomotives heading for each other head on: "I'm not stopping mine!" "Well, I'm not stoppin' mine!"

I feel like I've been kicked in the balls by life every time I see women dressed like this.
  11. ^ The PRT is just incredible.
  12. Now they get to star at a rusted tower..lol Talk about a boondoggle... they've got a private sector one staring them in the face!

Frankly, we'd be better off with a statewide safety inspection rather than jamming something up people's tailpipes and running their cars to 6,000 rpm (or more) on a dyno. There are so many cars running around that aren't roadworthy due to bald tires, bad brakes and destroyed suspensions. Currently though, as long as they don't pollute to much they are OK according to the state. Emissions-wise, they should just check for catalytic converters, air pumps and smoke. Basically what West Virginia does.
  14. They used to be able to stare at that melted down motel in Kenwood.

I can almost picture the "Uncle Tom's Cabins" being owned by someone who doesn't know history but really likes the Warrant song.
  16. Not the best architecture at Capital Plaza, but it's still a shame that it couldn't hold together for very long. It looks like something you'd see in Washington D.C., aside from the fact that the tower is twice as tall as something you'd see there.
  17. Still wish they'd get red lights for those big windows and have them go back and forth like K.I.T.T.
  18. Probably one of the main knocks on Columbus' immigrant population is not one of nationality or culture, but of architecture. Immigrants that aren't highly educated tend to settle in inexpensive parts of town as they begin their new lives in the States. In cities with an older form factor, they created those charming ethnic neighborhood streets full of life and unique storefronts and cuisine. Cleveland Ave./Linden is a bunch of strip malls, parking lots, old gas stations and high speed roads -- but that's what's cheap these days. It doesn't make people feel the same as a six square block enclave on a grid system like you see in Cleveland or New York City.

I remember the Republicans complaining that Strickland used the airplane in an inefficient manner. Yet Kasich uses it 4X as much.

Squarest use of the term "All About the Benjamins" that I've seen.

They're taking a cue from the WWF's Attitude era of the late '90s/early 2000s when Stone Cold and Vince McMahon were always at each others throats. Boss vs. employee drama often does well. That was the WWF's highest rated era since the late '80s. Or how Howard Stern's ratings would go through the roof when he would argue with his boss Pig Vomit.

Or like in the mid-2000s when kids were running around with those shoes that had deployable wheels. You'd see a kid walking, then all of a sudden he'd be two inches taller and still moving even though his legs weren't. The kids ended up looking like Transformers or something.
  24. The commercial R/E market is going to have a meltdown just like housing. There are way too many dead malls, big-box stores and strip malls out in sprawl that are worth nothing. But as of right now, the properties are still valued in the six-or-seven digit range. Even the land that they're on is worth barely above farm value in actuality - and that's only because they are graded and have city water and sewer. It's going to be curtains for these property holders when the true value of these properties is exposed.
  25. Sure that's not the 1971 plan?
