Other States: Passenger Rail News
^ I wouldn't say the 19th century -- more like 1962. They want a fantasy utopia of gigantic cars with tail fins, highways with few cars on them, drive-in movies and carhops. All of which were short lived even when left to the "free market" and couldn't be maintained after they were heavily subsidized later.

Columbus: Random Development and News
GCrites replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionLockbourne's layout doesn't really lend itself to expansion. Much of the land around it is flood plain, historic canal R/W or is fenced off by Rickenbacker.

US Economy: News & Discussion
2.1 million is over 4% of the single family houses in this country. Of course, some of the 80 million single family houses here are rentals or houses already on the market. This is significant. I hate this term "homes" for houses. It's not a home if nobody lives there, and other types of dwellings are homes when people live there. Even flophouses and the Y.

^Does the facility need a tunnel to city hall? It's right across the street? Jeez, why not even put in a skywalk like it's the '70s.

Pet Peeves!
I hate it when you are listening to internet radio, Music Choice or a video show and they don't tell you what actual album a song is from -- instead they tell you it's on the band's "Greatest Hits" album. First off, I hate greatest hits albums. When I like a song, I want to hear what other songs the band was making at that time. I want to hear an album with the songs in the proper order and I want to hear album cuts. Metallica doesn't have a greatest hits record, but imagine having to dig through all that Loads tripe to get to the good stuff. Second, that means the site/channel assumes that you aren't musically sophisticated to want anything but a record full of hits or the band's "most popular songs". Third, it means that they just show the greatest hits artwork -- meaning that I won't see the art that goes with the album. Sure, you can use the internet to get this information, but it's an extra step to run to the computer (if one's even around) and look it up, which is something people have to do enough already.

Governor John Kasich
Indeed. We have some of the best crop-producing land around, the Great Lakes, abundant water, excellent freight rail, varying terrain and Arnold says that we are one of the few states that could support itself without the help of other states. Well, I don't mind if Republicans like Voinovich, Eisenhower or Ford get in, though people like them seem to be rare these days. The way many speak of leaving the state makes me think of the song "Him". "Him him him, what's she gonna do about Him? She's gonna have to live without him, It's him or it's me, me me, No one gets to get it for free It's me or it's him." Apparently GCrites80s, the metalhead, has been listening to too much AM Gold lately.

Governor John Kasich
^Kasich might be trying to run the smart people out of the state so that he and people like him can control it for decades with an iron fist... upon a throne of dirt.
