  1. There are quite a few people who have paid off their mortgages, inherited their houses or built their own.

Stoooooone coooooooooooold I thought I knew you so well
  3. Not enough parking downtown?!?
  4. It'd be nice to have a World's Fair centered on rail and walkable areas.
  5. Apparently a lot of days that feel like the inside of a dog's mouth help the weather rankings.

All that sorting reminds me of recycling films form the '70s that they showed us in school.

I don't like "convergence". I'd feel like I was living 1984 if I just had two telescreens and a joypod. Consequently, I need things like the house phone and the alarm clock around .

There are many solutions for larger amounts of groceries that don't have 200 horsepower and weight 4000 pounds. There are foldable hand carts (not the store's) or wagons to name a couple.

It's probably Emo kids that are angry about growing up that complain about hipsters!
  10. Other states may have the town position between village and city. SimCity does.
  11. It's gotta be a well-paying job because they have to deal with all that mouth from the anti-streetcar crowd.

It could have been a Coors Light umbrella.

I will personally kill anyone who tries to bring back grunge. I will kill you until you are dead. It's more the early-early-'90s neon surfwear-type stuff rather than grunge.
  14. ^ Oh man, those pics are total rail porn.
  15. While I do agree that most people in the states buy too large of a vehicle for their needs, any graph (including the ones that accompany this article) illustrating the increase in the sales of full-size pickup models over cars can be misleading. There are only five full-size pickup models sold in this country versus hundreds of different models of passenger cars. Even if only the people who actually needed full-size trucks were buying them, they would still do well when compared to individual automobile models.

MTS, you are not allowed to do any grammar policing!
  17. At least Chicago got the Rock 'N Roll McDonald's.
  18. You do see that here and there with shorter driveways, but there's several reasons why you don't see concrete or asphalt strips for longer sections. Different Vehicle widths -- it's tough to space these for all the different sizes of vehicles and tires these days. Slipping off -- it's real easy to slip off the sides of these, especially in the winter. You gotta be ultra-precise with your moves. Invariably, over the years, the soil will either erode away from the hardened surface or will build up on the sides. Cost -- still not cheap Durability -- much less durable than wider sections of surface.
  19. Todays bricks used for paving aren't all slippery like 1920s bricks, so the danger factors are reduced. Wet, old brick streets covered in leaves + motorcycles = terror.
  20. ^ The internet is a massive job destroyer. The average person doesn't know that yet, but they will in 10 years.
  21. It is pretty unusual that all that spawl is not served by any nearby interstate interchange. With that said, just let 'em suffer I say.
  22. ^In the old days, it was very hard for people other than whites to make much of an impact.
  23. The whole notion of individual travel modes being tied to political affiliation is something only highly manipulative individuals could dream up in the first place. "If we convince people that trains, ships, walking, bicycles, horses, roller skates etc. -- basically anything but a car, truck or bus -- is un-American then our sales will go through the roof"

I'm pretty sure it is fake. Somebody over at Columbus Underground explained how the show works and it made sense. The "experts" that they bring in are the real owners of the stuff and they just hand it to some schmoe who acts like he's coming into the store to sell the item.

This just happened again. "No, you can't come behind the counter to show me a Youtube video." People see a computer and HAVE to get on the internet anytime they see it. If someone tells you about a video you are supposed to open it IMMEDIATELY or you're being rude.
