Wal-Mart can do water better than the public sector can! Let's have them handle it. lol

Franklin Park, Columbus
^ Very good points. I'm a business owner, and I spent a lot of time finding a space that allowed me to avoid major renovations simply because I don't have the money.

Franklin Park, Columbus
^ Yep, things aren't looking good for the Far East Side. Too suburban for city slickers, and too many "big city problems" for suburbanites. Franklin Park is another classy old Columbus neigborhood. The only problem I see in the future is that it is large and almost exclusively residential. It needs at least some businesses.

One time, a couple of buddies of mine stopped at a McDonalds deep in Kentucky. You could smoke in it, so after they were done eating they smoked five cigarettes apiece just because they could.

Piketon: Uranium Enrichment Plant & Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant News
I think there's only a few people in Portsmouth that know how to handle money/business -- a few of the prominent local businesspeople, the landlords and some Shawnee State professors .

Ohio: General Business & Economic News
^ Yep, the Eastons, Polari, West Chesters and Masons are poaching former Downtown companies. We're going though what other states experienced in the '80s.

Boomers/Gen X/Millenials
^Right, I don't think of say, Metallica (most members born in 1963) and other thrash metal or punk bands with members around that age as Boomers. They detested most of the things that Boomers represented in the '60s and '70s such as hippies, disco, Volkswagens and suburbs. They also didn't really match Generation X's drollness and self-loathing characteristics. The whole metal, fast cars and mullets thing came out of the '60-'67 generation. The Badasses.

I've got a boxed Atari 400 at my store -- thinking of firing it up and using it as a demo once the store opens.

Bestselling books in 17 American cities (Cleveland included)
Just because "a" book sells well, doesn't mean that its ideologies are the most popular at any given time. People say "Oh, Nickelback does really well; therefore Nickelback is the most popular form of music out there" even though the amount of non-Nickelback music sold (and that of its mainstream clones) dwarfs the amount of Nickelback sold

Rethinking Transport in the USA
This is another case where the digitization of things has negative consequences. If mileage based taxation went into effect, devices would quickly appear on the black market to "roll back" digital odometers simply by plugging into the car's computer. Of course, using one is already highly illegal and would become moreso if the mileage-based model went into effect. Yet, most people would never attempt to roll back their analog odometer.

Pet Peeves!
Code readers that can also clear codes range from $100 to $200. The fancy ones at the dealership are for reading real-time data about air/fuel ratios and the like. On older domestic cars (pre-'96) all you need to read the codes is a paper clip and a standard repair manual. The check engine light will flash in a "Morse Code" of sorts which can be interpreted with the instructions in the manual.

Boomers/Gen X/Millenials
It's tough to blame the Boomers for being a certain age at a certain time. Any kind of baby boom has negative repercussions due to the fact that there is a "dominant generation" that is catered to more than others by companies and the government. The other generations are left unneeded and unnecessary except to keep the dominant generation prospering. Many of Medicare and Social Security's problems can be traced to the smaller number of individuals paying into the programs compared to the number taking from them. Baby booms should be avoided in the future.

US Economy: News & Discussion
The pool of skilled mechanics is srinking for several reasons: Kids don't grow up tinkering with mechanical stuff nearly as much as in the past. Parents and educators steer young people away from the trades and most kids want the four-year-college Caligula scene.
