For as many times as I have moved, I should say "stay" instead of "live".

Social media poll (twitter, facebook, etc.)
One day I updated my status on Facebook (something I don't do very much) to say "'GCrites80s' is taking a dump." Only a few people got the joke.

They're not just further from Africa, but also the South.

Columbus: Italian Village Developments and News
GCrites replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSo this isn't going to be a theme park based around the Wonderland murders that Pickaway County's John Holmes narrowly escaped?

^That's fairly unusual. Wiis are pretty tough; especially compared to 360s! I think about 10% of Wiis have broken so far as compared to 52% of 360s.

Spring Break '09 Cincinnati, USA Part 2 of 2
Where's the chicks taking their tops off? Or tugs-of-war on the beach where chicks' tops fall off? What kind of Spring Break thread is this?

"The City of the Seventies": Louisville's "West" urban renewal, part I
Ahh, the first time I visited Louisville, I was expecting to see old men that dress like Colonel Sanders walking down tree-lined streets, drinking bourbon and taking the time to stop and admire statues of Davey Crockett and Bill Monroe. Basically, like Richmond. But instead, it just looked like a mix of Columbus and Dayton. I was shocked.

Aruba? The one in the nearly empty strip mall south of Eastland with the old Big Bear and Central Hardware? Sounds like a happenin' place! Almost as awesome as the Aquarium Lounge in the old Denny's in front of the old Kids 'R Us, Chuck E. Cheese and AMC 8 that they just tore down -- just north of the Olive Garden on S. Hamilton. It also sees lots of gunplay. I didn't know that the mayor left Berwick. Isn't

Whitopia: A controversial view of sprawl
If they really wanted to protect their wealth, they wouldn't saddle themselves with the enormous costs of living in sprawl.

Rethinking Transport in the USA
I know lots of people 16-30 who don't drive or own cars or started driving again after a long hiatus. They simply don't want to deal with all the BS. Of course, it's one thing for a New Yorker to forgo an automobile, but these are Ohioans.

If you like to get loud at the theater, just go to the loud one. Most cities have at least one. I don't go to the movies much because I think 500 people in a room being totally silent while staring at a screen is creepy, and I like to make fun of stupid stuff I see in the movie. But, most people hate that, so I stay home. Now, at the loud theater people crack jokes and talk to each other like normal human beings. Springdale Cinemas in Cincy is one; I haven't gone looking for one in Columbus yet.

^Though it would probably work well, greenfield development is the last thing Columbus needs at this point. Even if it just replaces the track, I think it's too far from the core.

My Curve Gets Another One
Tires, tires, tires. A good set of all-seasons will handle nasty snow with ease, let alone today's incredible snow tires. Though, if you don't have a limited-slip (aka Posi-traction) rear end, you're pretty much stuck.

A trip through eastern Kentucky

CLEVELAND - (...Avenue, that is.) South Linden, Columbus
An odd driving phenomenon that I only noticed in Columbus after I lived other places is that cars coming up on your tail, no matter what your mode, wait until the very last second to get over. They always nearly clip you -- odd considering how much extra space there is almost everywhere in town.

That's how they are able to have gun shows at Westland.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Mabley Place (formerly Tower Place Mall)
^Tower Place can't be killed as easily as City Center since it's not in a building dedicated to just a mall. I never thought of that... er, carry on.

Whitopia: A controversial view of sprawl
I'd love to see how well a typical American skinhead would do should we drop his/her ass in the middle of Europe tomorrow. Heck, can't we inspire a "Back To Europe" movement for these people and be done with them? They'd probably be pretty PO'd when they found out that black and brown people live there too.

I like the Delphi location better if Wexner turns Westland into Weston. Of course, Weston could be built at Delphi as well.
