Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
^ On the other hand, for some reason, one of my favorite watering holes, the Zig came up on the left side of the screen. It is several miles from the strip mall.

Rally for Rail in Fort Wayne fills Station to SRO
It's true in the roadgeek community as well. There's quite a bit of people with Autism and Asberger's Syndrome that are into the roads. With the rails, I think it's the "on time" and timechart aspect, while with the roads it's more about the rules, regulations and standards involved with the roadway system.

Rally for Rail in Fort Wayne fills Station to SRO
I haven't gotten any actual foamers at the hobby store just yet, more of the conductor hats and elderly folks talking about the train set that they got in 1937.

Rally for Rail in Fort Wayne fills Station to SRO
LOL, the only way you could have made that funnier would have been to include a bit about foamers. I work at a hobby store, so I get these kind of folks all the time.

I have to admit that I don't have much pull in the architectural community.

I hope I don't sound like a mom, but be careful! :) Yeah, if this is real you could wind up in the slammer, easy. Jail is not fun -- er, not that I know of course.

Are you a textaholic?
What I've noticed about the cell phone, especially amongst heavy users, is that people aren't concise with their speech any more. Everything's a ramble.

I know I have bad taste, but my architecture cutoff isn't until about 1980.

Top 10 Chains We Wouldn't Mind Seeing in Downtown Columbus
I couldn't agree more, and I fully support the local and independent establishments that we do have downtown right now. There are a lot of great local restaurants, but sadly only a handful of places to shop at the moment. I think that will change, all in good time. That being said though... Target is still Target, and people are still going to want to buy things there. I think if one can be integrated well into our downtown urban fabric it would not only be a draw for its own customers, but could also serve as a magnet for smaller/independent shops to set up around it who otherwise couldn't thrive without the foottraffic. When stores like WalMart started opening on the outskirts of towns across America, they killed a lot of Main Streets. What I'd like to see happen is a reversal of that. Bring the chains into the downtown area and help bring life back to Main Street. Let's have a retail mix. Little bit of something for everyone. Chains, boutiques, independents, big, small, expensive, thrifty, etc. Right, Downtown is so large and has so much free space at the moment that there is plenty of room for both chains and local stuff.

How hot were the hot chicks? Like, actual hot chicks, or hot for a street whore but not all that hot, really?

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Between banana peels and raining electricity, I picture the streets of Cincinnati turning into Mario Kart once the streetcars are running.
