Cincinnati: Brent Spence Bridge
I was on the bridge going north today and some tires were rolling around in the middle lanes. I was in the right lane, with a bunch of semis in the other lanes. Shit completely hit the fan behind me since there's no place to pull over.

Ohio: Recycling News & Info
With scrap metal prices through the roof, I bet you could just put a container of cans or other metal outside and someone would just grab it anyway.

Ohio Bars
This bar has been tempting me since I visited Cincinnati for the first time in 2001 to see Armored Saint and Dio at Bogart's and stayed at the old Travelodge down the street. I finally decided to go there last Thursday based on the glowing reviews on this site. It's called the Pit Stop Lounge. It was slow, but it did seem like the place to be during NASCAR.

Walkable Communities
^Yeah, a mall would make walkability go through the roof. Yet, most malls have to be driven to.

Hamilton! - Gallery 23 - High-Main Bridge
Good thing the medallion kids dressed up for the event.

Ohio Bars
Personally, I'm a big fan of pissing into buckets full of bleach as seen at rural bars until the '70s.

Who has the prettiest campus in Ohio?
UC needs more trees, but so do a lot of other schools that are mostly new buildings.

lima: lunch at the kewpee diner
Looks like that was an area that was bland suburbia until development sprang up around the Metro station.

America's 60 largest cities ranked by % with graduate degree (age 25-34): Ohio?
These numbers probably will change drastically because many more people go to grad school today than even seven years ago. The order may or may not change that much, but the % certainly will.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I saw a book about the Cincinnati stairs at a friend's house. Qualls wrote the forward. Here's an inexact quote: "It always amused me that people thought the stairs increased crime. As if people were carrying TVs, VCRs and bicycles up 300 yards of stairs."

Cincinnati: Historic Photos
If you want some great '70s shots of the 'Nati, find the Johnny Cash movie "The Pride of Jesse Hallam" http://imdb.com/title/tt0082939/.

Not to get all Columbus in a Cincinnati thread, but the downtown Columbus Lazarus was still mindblowing in the '80s.

New Philadelphia, Ohio
^Cheap signs made on the computer suck. They're everywhere.

Cincinnati: Historic Photos
"Diver Down" shots -- I really had to scour the pix to understand what was going on. Then I thought of the Van Halen album and it made sense.

Cincinnati: Brent Spence Bridge
Yesterday, the ramp from the 8 Ball (KY 8) to 71/75 northbound was closed. It appeared they were inspecting it. Whatever they were doing, they also used a fire hose.

This is too difficult.

I'm a little creeped out as well.

Walkable Communities
Very true.

Northern Kentucky: Random Development and News
I do love it when people just say "screw it" and walk anyway, creating ugly dirt paths that scream "Hey dumbasses, you were supposed to put a sidewalk here!"

Train derails in Hamilton
Yay, now we never have to dress up, even for church. Flip flops and sweat pants ALL DAY EVERY DAY! Just another reason why Europe hates us.
