  1. One of my roommates back in college used to mow the grass at the regionally famous Our House restaurant in Gallipolis. On his resume he put "Yard Maintenance - Our House" as a job. Of course, people at interviews were like "what the hell is this?" when they saw it until he changed it to "Yard Maintenance - Our House Restaurant".
  2. ohhhhhhhhhh, shit. oops.
  3. It sucks that Heather Pick cut all her hair off. Her husband must compliment her too much.
  4. Man, I'm a metalhead, but I really dig the tunes on the Columbus Community Channels 3, 20, and 21 (on WOW). I'm referring to the times when community info and events are on the screen. Does anybody know who did the songs or where they came from? I've heard them in office buildings before as well.
  5. [quote author=David link=topic=12186.msg169770#msg169770 Are you saying Cleveland is at the bottom of the list because of sprawl? It's more of a problem for metro Cleveland than any other city? Yeah, Charlotte and Columbus are total sprawl.
  6. I always like it when international students see a U.S. keg party get busted for the first time. Yankee kid: "Shit! The cops are here! Typical!" Foreign kid: "Why?" Yankee kid: "Because it's a party." Foreign kid: "Why would the police come to a party? Are they in the mood to party?" Yankee kid: "To bust underage kids." Foreign kid: "Why?" Yankee kid: "Because they're assholes." Foreign kid: "No wonder you Americans are so fat. Nobody lets you have a good time. How did the police find out about the party?" Yankee kid: "One of the neighbors probably called them." Foreign kid: "Why aren't the neighbors at the party?" Yankee kid: "Let's get outta here!!!"

I've been told that only people from Ohio and Kentucky piss in the sink when the rest of the toilets are taken.

I have a '94 Redline Proline BMX racebike. It's got a number plate, pads -- the whole bit. A BMX's simplicity makes a great way to get around locally. Obviously, it sucks ass if you go more than 10 miles.
  9. The last time I rode it, in 2005, the station was still outside the terminal. edit: changed 2004 to 2005

    "Ohio... Come Here to Die"
  11. BJs at the mall? Maybe I'll go more often.
  12. I just duct tape 'em all together. Too big to get lost.
  13. Basically, it just spreads the load over the whole construction rather than allowing tires to mash ruts in the main traffic area. http://www.tensar.co.uk/contents.asp?cont_id=38&cont_type=1&page_type=CT#1
  14. I didn't know NYC's was 24 hours. I guess so many stations were closed that I just thought the whole thing was closed. DC's closed at 3 or 3:30 when I last lived there in 2004.

Doesn't any project have four phases -- planning, design, construction and management?
  16. I think NYC's is brokedick compared to DC's. DC's is so much easier to use and doesn't pull any tricks on you, like stations closing on the weekends or tossing you on a shuttle bus. DC's also runs later and is much cleaner -- of course, you expect things to be dirty in NYC.
  17. I tell you what, once one straight moves in, it's not long before they bring all their friends. Pretty soon, property values are in the shitter and there's blood in the streets.
  18. They need to throw some GeoGrid underneath the brick part of the street to keep that from happening again.
  19. Are there any pictures? When I lived around there, I wondered about how large the center was going be and the type of support facilities it would feature. edit: I found some. It looks like a church. http://www.southern.ohiou.edu/pages/campuses/proctorville/index.htm
  20. Why all the Crosley Tower hate? I see it a lot on this site.

Most shows, especially trade shows, are getting smaller. People can find out all they need about a product online, then order it directly.
  22. Maybe things should have stayed that way.
