Oh I see, its share of the city's population tanked rather than its total population.

Corryville's population has tanked. I suppose that's what you get when all of those people with kids get moved out for 1BR graduate student units. And it explains why Short Vine got so sleepy.
  3. Jeg's just sold to a private equity firm so that's going to make it where they do have more cash.
  4. Wonder why a Columbus city document uses City-Data's info rather than, say... the city's own.
  5. Oh wow, that's all of the Near East Side.
  6. Then what is this "Central Downtown" from my link? I can see that we might say the Arena District, Discovery District and "Uptown" are wrapped into it but that still puts it at 6.4 square miles. Does "Central Downtown" include things like the Brewery District, all of Franklinton east of 315 and German Village?
  7. Columbus' Downtown is bigger than Cleveland and Cincinnati's combined at 7.45+ square miles. Part of this is due to the fact that the Arena District and Discovery District are officially part of Downtown. For some reason there is the "Uptown District" which includes most of the state government buildings. I've never heard anyone use that term. It is included since it is definitely Downtown. Also Downtown includes the part of Franklinton east of the railroad tracks for another .25 square miles or so not included in the 7.45 I listed above. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwithfObrJf2AhVrqVsKHRAtBFQQFnoECCwQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.columbus.gov%2FWorkArea%2FDownloadAsset.aspx%3Fid%3D2147491717&usg=AOvVaw1YNJVamOIoWntzcOc98nYO
  8. The residential seems to be doing fine so I'm surprised it got turned down. Maybe there's another reason we don't know about.
  9. Ha timed perfectly for the time of year potholes are unavoidable.

I get stuff like that all the time. NRA stuff, weird surveys with leading Righty questions etc.
  11. I have literally never been on this road. I wonder what used to be here. Maybe a school or some ball fields?
  12. Problem is, truly rural life has so many additional layers of difficulty that you can't work full time. And almost all jobs are blue collar out there so toss that degree in the trash.
  13. What's crappy is that one-story buildings were ever allowed here at all.

    No.
  15. Or income inequality hitting hard in the early-mid 2000s made it where only people who liked oversize vehicles such as trucks and SUVs had enough money to buy new cars. Who likes those things... blue collar guys in the skilled trades and suburban females that's who. And the income inequality economy still paid those people. Large sedans still exist -- they just aren't as popular. They get the standard American MPG of 17/24. edit: oops same rant as last fall. Still applies.
  16. Ha, I never knew Dahlia is what that space became. I am so old. It was weird that one of the big party spots in town was in the middle of all that gravel. Now back in the 2000s you could find me in the gravel too.
  17. Columbus doesn't have opposition to rail transit outside of a few noisy sprawl worshipers all they way out in like Commercial Point whose opinion doesn't matter. It instead has apathy keeping it from getting rail transit. But since tech is really big on private buses I'm not expecting much change initiated by Intel.
  18. People move to Columbus then have kids.
  19. Humor here is less schlocky now than 2008
  20. Ohio is low-growth but the Columbus metro is not.
  21. Rickenbacker Parkway East doesn't yet exist and is a $70 million project that creates a ring road all the way around the airport so I'm watching that closely. At least part of it would have to be finished for the Air Cargo Campus to be unlocked. Interested to see if it is funded with the Biden infrastructure money.

This is how I play, but I have to admit that I would be too embarrassed to ape the entire first Iron Maiden record this blatantly with an original.
  23. Oh my heavens!
