Tech is really big on private buses so I don't know if this helps our rail transit chances all that much. Yes most major tech cities have OK to good rail transit, but that's because most of those cities were into rail transit already. If you add tech to a city with no rail transit they might just fire the private 28-passenger bus cannon at it.

Electric Cars
Well, they could get into auto-grade chips with a new facility.

Oh boy, the trash burning power plant. You cannot burn bleach or else you get dioxin. And there's no way people's trash isn't going to have bleach in it or things made with bleach.

Oh no, non-auto grade chips are not good. Most "tech" is made to be used indoors and/or discarded after a few years. There is a big difference in auto chips and it's why the Intel's CEO's Twitter offer to "fix" Ford's chip problems landed with a thud. Intel doesn't make auto-grade chips currently.

Columbus: Restaurant News & Info
GCrites replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentOK the Cap. It's been 15 years now and something needs to be done about its appearance. It needs to look more like the Union Station arcade and less neutral monochromatic EIFS now that EIFS is out of fashion. I know maybe the materials have to be light since it's a bridge but maybe some kind of different overlay while keeping the same shapes?

Electric Cars
It wouldn't be that hard to get some of the most-used functions off the touchscreen with today's CAN-BUS wiring harnesses that are a lot more like CAT-5 than the thick snakes of the past. The Body Control Module (or whatever a Tesla) has can simply be reprogrammed to send and accept those signals from somewhere else. Obviously a redesign of the steering column is required to implement that on future models but even retrofits would be possible. Wait 'til you see what the aftermarket and enthusiasts can do with this stuff in 15-20 years -- maybe less since the main Tesla design is 10 years old.

Electric Cars
Honestly, there's probably only a few things keeping Teslas off that list. 1) Single failure point touchscreen that has to be used to do almost anything. 2) The yoke. Anybody who looked into a Knight Rider replica has been told how terrible yokes are. Cars have steering wheels for a reason. 3) Build quality issues. All three of these things are easily solvable.

Columbus: Car-sharing services
I feel like Car2Go's use of Smart Cars discouraged use on freeways. In Columbus freeways are an extremely important part of the road infrastructure -- moreso than other cities. Like say Dayton, where the arterials have synced traffic signals and it has an old outerbelt or Cincinnati where the arterials like Reading, Montgomery, Colerain and Columbia Parkway get you a lot of important places that the interstates just can't and move you around town almost as quickly if not faster.

Columbus: General Business & Economic News
The Georgesville Road area north of 270 is sooo weird. It's like, it was important for like six months in 1992. So they sank a bunch of money into road improvements and strip malls that year and one Big Bear opened up for a short time and that's it besides a couple pizza places and a tanning salon. They thought it was going to be Lewis Center or something.
