I think there was a pretty big one in front of the Old Pen before the low-head dams went in.

GCrites replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionIs it really a "dive bar"? Isn't it just a bar? Or is anything that's not a taproom or distillery a " dive bar" now?

A lot of tech growth was how much more internet would be needed to keep going through the whole thing. Everyone was updating and growing their websites quickly and drastically, beefing up their webstores, schools having to do all that internet work, governments adding new websites and constantly updating, app growth, video games, more streaming -- just more, more, more every day. That goes for Amazon too since they handle 50% of web traffic in the U.S. I feel that growth far overshadows their retail growth, especially profitability-wise. A lot of their retail growth was sales and volume growth rather than margin growth. Now with their bigness they don't have to fight to be cheapest anymore either which is good for them I suppose. They can go above MSRP.

GCrites replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYeah I mean density isn't really the purpose of that area. And you wouldn't get better urbanism -- just more residential where everyone still has to drive to their job.

Flytown is being demolished for the beginnings of the Goodale Freeway which is technically the first part of the Interstate Highway System since it became I-71 soon after completion and was the first interstate open in the city (rather than I-70). Also some of I-70 is kind of started since I think that bridge over the railroad tracks was used for I-70. But I didn't know that you had those ramps leading to Front St. a block apart like that. That probably didn't last long. The Justice Center is there now. I've been looking at this picture for days now. You can see in the existing parking lots how everyone is really jammed in there in some places. Everybody probably had to leave work at the same time in order to get all the cars out and they had to do it in a coordinated manner. All those WWII Gen and Silent Gens are getting their mental scars of not having enough parking right here. They'll want everything to be "easy to get in and out of" in the future.

Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
There was one play in the 4th where Burrow really navigated traffic well despite having to hold on to the ball for a really long time behind the line of scrimmage but still made up for it with a first down (or close to it). I was thinking, "That's the kind of quarterback that gets to go to the Super Bowl"

The Good Hitlers of Circleville The other thing Circleville boasts about is the abundance of Hitler references. There are two Hitler roads—numbered 1 and 2—as well as a Huber-Hitler Road, a Hitler Pond, a Hitler Park, and a Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery, among other things. None of them pays tribute to the maniacal, genocidal, Nazi dictator, fortunately. These were the good Hitlers we are talking about, the original ones, the ones who founded Circleville. The Hitlers were one of the pioneer families who migrated to Ohio’s Pickaway County in 1799 and settled in an area that is now Circleville. As Circleville Herald attests, they were “fine, upstanding citizens”. The Hitler family consisted of George Hitler, his wife Susannah Gay, and their eleven children, seven of which were born after they resettled in Circleville. These children married into other Pickaway families, had their own children and the Hitler family grew... ...Some Circleville residents wishes they could change the names of their roads and parks, but the Hitlers stand firm on their stance. They aren’t going to let one man's infamy force them to change their name. https://www.amusingplanet.com/2018/03/the-good-hitlers-of-circleville.html So it's the "Why should we change? He's the one who sucks!" thing like Michael Bolton in Office Space.

I guess they really want it to be parallel to Mink Street. By the way, who named these streets, people in the 16th Century? Jug Street?

Look at all that industrial might! I really like this era of the city since it was still free of all the vices ascribed to it by people (they hadn't happened yet). Well except maybe "Cowtown".

We were really hammering the Short North, so much that it was making rents too high and therefore making businesses riskier and harder to be profitable. The SN is fantastic but spreading the love might actually help the SN and allow businesses to be more stable.

Another big thing that was going on in 2013 was people all of a sudden started keeping their computers longer and longer simply because they could -- for the first time since the internet hit. Sort of like how all those schools were still using Apple IIs into the mid-'90s because the internet hadn't gotten big yet. People started keeping their phones for a lot longer too. So the growth slowed to below Intel (and everyone else's) projections.

"Tesla HQ" isn't like regular HQs where it's a bunch of people. It's basically just where Musk lives. Tesla makes headlines for everything. Fantastic car, clickbait actions.

All public speech by companies regarding incentives is pulled into the direction of "more incentives" rather than other business factors -- even if the other factors are mentioned.

Yes. It's hard to find in non-paywall non-big-PDF form. I saw the plans at a meeting in 2017-2018.

Exactly, we won't know those details until they are announced and the media does some digging to find out information that is not in press releases.
