  1. Those would already be illegal in most states. You can't go over 44" in tire height in almost every state and they also might be too wide.
  2. This distorted car size situation is also caused by income inequality. Back in the '90s and before when there were wide lines of vehicles from the Big 3 and mostly small cars from the imports people would get out of school and buy a new car. A wide variety of new-car buyers meant a wide variety of cars. Around the early 2000s all of a sudden these people getting out of school found themselves unable to buy a car due to student loans and only coffee-pouring job offers. Get past 2007 especially and the only people with enough money to buy new cars were Karens and Buzz the Overpaid Boomer who bought new crossovers/SUVs and bigass pickup trucks every two years. They bought their kids these things too so add another round of new-car buys for Karen and Buzz.

    That is wild!
  4. I suppose it would be better if the surrounding area went vertical like Upper Arlington did but there's no guarantee.
  5. Wait, is that an Orange Leaf that is still open?
  6. They probably learned that from Liberty Center where the restaurants, "experiences" and residential filled but the retail didn't all the way.
  7. Malls that started out as outdoor malls such as Tri-County are usually easier to chop up than ones that were always enclosed. Some always-enclosed malls are indeed a bunch of separate buildings though. Dayton Mall is like that.

Considering how much of their stuff comes directly from China unless you really pay attention and make sure it ships from the U.S. And of course no one pays attention when they buy stuff on their phones since phone internet strips away so many details and/or makes them imperceptibly small.
  9. How long has Tri-County been in the city of Springdale? I used to be under the impression that it wasn't in the city limits. It is now.
  10. Even NYC can't escape Appalachia.
  11. I suppose I fear it would just be more drive-to urbanism that remains self-contained. Columbus doesn't have too much of this (Easton is too big and powerful to be mere drive-to urbanism) but say compare it to Austin Landing south of Dayton to see how it can turn out sub-optimal by UO standards (while still attracting big-name tenants).
  12. If the drug business is like any other business with supply issues it's no wonder users and dealers are shooting at each other. "I know he's holding out on me."
  13. The trouble with trying to resuscitate sprawl is the sheer amount of land it takes up.
  14. Interesting.
  15. Ohio doesn't have much square mileage difference in its counties. Not like Kentucky where you could fit 5 of their Carroll Counties inside their Pike County.
  16. Isn't that our High Line on the far left? Wonder when the guy who owns it is going to get moving on it.
  17. Ha that is quite the kick in the balls.
  18. ^Don't they do scholarships for stuff like squash and crew though? Maybe not football.
  19. Gotta play it safe around the power lines
  20. So NOT a White Castle then.
  21. Good to see such diversity in power at the meeting.
  22. COVID might have been hard on the indoor part of the business.
  23. It's not just companies putting all their offices in the 'burbs due to Boomer mentalities -- even younger compaines that still locate in the core tend to move into sub-10-story buildings rather than rent out a few floors in the middle of a tower these days.
