I was sad to see it come down even as a kid. After that COSI put a bike with a counterweight underneath that anyone could ride across a tightrope with no hands. While I was doing it I was thinking "this is cool, but the Christopher Inn was better."
  2. Used car prices are getting really out of hand for low-income individuals. Good work cars were $200 in the 90s. Cars like that now are pushing $3000 now.
  3. Remember when people were in a hurry for the light to change? Now they don't want it to change so they can look at their phone longer.
  4. I always wondered what those dancers thought seeing the same car full of 17-year-old boys driving back and forth 8 times a day. That car being my high school buddies and myself.
  5. Gosh, we used to talk about Portland and Milwaukee in an aspirational tone and now Cincinnati is ~2X them. But BOAST and WLW said only homeless guys would ride it
  6. A computer can do it.
  7. No making fun of Columbus by using shots of the OSU farm any more.
  8. I only had to stop once or twice for a train there during my time in Grandview which was 2011-2016.
  9. Anything heavily subsidized will be overconsumed.
  10. Let's get things back to normal for Grandview then. Topic: Hair salons
  11. Get-Gos are all over the map service-wise. Look at the one on 5th, it's is just gas, a few beers, a strip of chips and cigarettes basically. It was one of those tiny gas stations in the '60s that just had cigarettes and metal cans of oil inside. And one tire.
  12. I haven't been to any of the Columbus Sheetz yet -- the last time I ate there was probably 2003 in like Alliance or Boardman or something. I don't remember it too well other than the ordering protocol.
  13. Maybe if you're thinking of the Hyde Park UDF instead of the Brice Road one.
  14. In Appalachia degrees are punished outside of public sector, hospital and NGOs.
  15. That's the "Ohio Fix". Throw a 1% state income tax break at the problem. The U.S. tries to fix everything with some after-the-fact tax break.
  16. And that's the problem when cities are subject to so many boom and bust cycles. All it takes is for something to happen to 1-2 key employers and the whole city hits a bust. Keep in mind Europe and Canada don't have these subsidies and that's why they didn't sprawl. Over 80% of Canadians live in cities: https://www.statista.com/statistics/271208/urbanization-in-canada/ Canada is one of the largest countries in the world regarding land area, second behind Russia. However, Canada´s inhabitants - like the majority of people around the world - prefer to live in cities where there are more possibilities to work and play. The country is part of North America, the most urbanized continent in the world. In 2014, almost 82 percent of Canada was urbanized, i.e. more than 80 percent of the Canadian population lived in cities.

I bet a lot of people in the Columbus metro think he owns Vance's Shooting Supplies.
  18. There might be juuuuuust enough people on the Committee to mitigate bias.
  19. Hmm, I think the asphalt would be pulled up and grading started before steel arrives.
  20. My guess is that they are extremely deft at timing when a vicinity is appreciating in just the right manner and striking at that time to just happen to be a part of the boost. They give it that last little push over the cliff. As Spinal Tap would say Am I right?
  21. Probably not TJ's. Income in the vicinity too low.
  22. Isn't he the one that got
  23. They think residential attracts more traffic than a supermarket.
  24. That radius also dips into the South Side and Franklinton which are still going to pull down your numbers.
