  1. I’m not sure the best or most appropriate place to put this so hope this is okay. my family and I are looking to move to shaker between this summer and next. If anyone on the forum lives there and/or has anything helpful to share please message me. We’re hitting a bit of dead end with our current search and trying to do the right thing. Thank you!
  2. As a red line rider who lives in Lakewood currently but planning to move to shaker soon, I love this!
  3. Don’t worry in 30 days this same crowd will magically say everything from crime to the economy are sooo much better. Even though both are in relatively good spots nationally.
  4. I walk by this site daily. I was hoping someday infill would take the site, my only other alternative was a dozen native mature trees. But 11 units it is!
  5. My only complaint is I think they could have gone a little higher with this building 5-7 floors. But overall great addition!
  6. Does anyone know when the W117 rapid station plans on reopening? Can be frustrating as I feel like I haven’t seen any workers there in weeks.
  7. Sad when our tax dollars are funding prayer at schools like LCA. These private schools (charter and religious) are increasing tuition to make money off of us, while our public schools starve, all so some of these families can self-segregate free of charge. $1B and counting on this scam that has never been proven productive anywhere. Smh with that said I hope the district considers selling a couple of the older properties (especially Franklin school of opportunity) and the land can be used for housing. Fingers crossed!
  8. There is a red line station down the street from this park….
  9. But that is at most 50 spots? I’m still perplexed at the super sized parking amount. Ugh America
  10. It’s just wild that the police in these situations are never personally held liable. The U.S. is something else.
  11. Go to tower city, you’ll probably see 3-4 on their phone watching Facebook videos.
  12. Thank you for asking, although not sure why the personal question matters other than for your own judgement. But to answer I have one with my second due in September.
  13. As someone who consistently uses the w117 station this is so dramatic. God forbid you be inconvenienced. I’ve used this station at all times of the day and all days of the week without an issue. Uncomfortable conversations with some individuals struggling? Sure, but they are humans and I think we all could use some self/situational awareness and compassion instead of judgement and arrogance. could the system be greatly improved as we all discuss? Sure! But our state is hell bent on making us into Mississippi and will continue to starve public transportation and education in favor of privatized systems run by their donors. I lived in Columbus for 11 years and would have KILLED for the transit system Cleveland has. And I think Columbus could do this very easily considering how consolidated their employment/other destinations are, but they struggle with the same issues of the state gov and are late to the party, I digress.
  14. I hope not. While the surface lot parking around their current three arenas isn’t ideal it’s somewhat efficient. Stadiums / arenas don’t belong in center cities and grouping them together and accessible by transit is somewhat of an above approach for a U.S. city
  15. As someone who desperately wants to move to shaker when kids are school age, the taxes burden is my only pause. Have there been any considerations of just making the current middle school site residential?
