2022 Ohio Gubernatorial Election
So can the fetus be claimed on taxes? Can I take out an insurance policy for it? Should we start counting our birthdays 9 months early? What a bizarre 1920s take. you can’t even donate organs without express written consent when someone is dead but if someone gets raped force the birth, ah the modern day republicans who couldn’t wear masks for 20 minutes.

Is this replacing the parking lot for the Bingham ?

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Last two posts just scream “I was peacefully protesting on January 6” energy.

Cleveland Heights: Development and News
I will personally start a gofundme for this protected bike line. This picture could be mistaken for Amsterdam, and that is the best compliment.

The Future of America and Its Cities
don’t worry I grew up in parma so I’m veryyyy familiar with the crowd, the confederate flags hanging outside homes, and people claiming it’s about “the economy”.

The Future of America and Its Cities
This is the most suburbia Ohio / parma thing I have ever heard. Holy yikes. Right wingers loveeee calling themselves “moderates” or “apolitical” almostttt as much as they love self segregating their neighborhoods, schools, etc.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I really hope you understand our best case alternative is a Rob Portman, GOP member. While I think we can all agree with current trends it’ll be a Matt Gaetz vibe soon enough. I think we’re lucky to have someone like Brown and while also saying yes any/all/more prioritization on transit and urban funding is needed.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I use this station daily and the lack of upkeep is sad. What’s even worse is there are always at least two RTA police there who probably are locked into million dollar pensions, who are there to enforce “fare evasion”. Great use of the funds.

Ohio Congressional Redistricting / Gerrymandering
But one party nationally is agreeing to do away with this altogether?

Ohio Congressional Redistricting / Gerrymandering
Imagine stilll being a GOP voter in Ohio after this and the HB6 debacle. Yikes.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
While on this topic I saw the Cle.com article referring to the superior and Lorain bike lane projects. Does anyone know why Lorain Ave is the candidate instead of detroit? Detroit feeds directly into public square and would seamlessly connect to the superior Ave lanes. This would give us bike lanes from w65 to e55. Maybe I’m missing something. Also the red line green way overlaps a lot with Lorain Ave in the proposed area.

Cleveland Relocation: need neighborhood, school recommendations
As someone who grew up in Ukrainian Village I would have to strongly disagree. Yes it’s conveniently located for driving places and cheaper. But the house stock is meh, no diversity, no sense of community and no food spots. To each their own though. I think with that price point shaker square/larchmere or something that needs some TLC on the west side (Ohio city/Gordon square) would be a good option.

Cleveland Relocation: need neighborhood, school recommendations
My apologies, not sure how I missed west park in my earlier statement.

Cleveland Relocation: need neighborhood, school recommendations
It really depends on price point and what you are looking for. I would say these would be the places to start off looking. Some are more family oriented than others and price points, lot size, transit options, etc. will vary by each, Old Brooklyn Shaker Square / Larchmere Detroit Shoreway/Gordon Square Ohio City Tremont Edgewater

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
Friend who works for county in has in various departments suggested the jail may go in EC. Frustrating but maybe they are going to say Windermere is the transit connection?

Cleveland: Population Trends
As noted above development was highly incentivized in the 1950-1970 time which led to this issue. The same should be done to reverse the problem.

Cleveland: Population Trends
^ to piggyback off this… investment into the city’s east side outside of UC is so desperately needed. To keep the residents already there is so crucial and overlooked. Hope Bibb, his team, and others can pick up the chaos left from Frank.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Did they give any targeted completion dates or milestone targets?

Ohio Congressional Redistricting / Gerrymandering
The fact that we’re comparing the MD instance to Ohio is the classic GOP both sides argument that is trash. Imagine the other side nationally having legislation to fix the problem and you shut it down various times, then you complain about it rarely working against you Bc you know it’s the only way you can win back the house and keep minority rule. Texas districts are insane as well, the lunatic Crenshaw wouldn’t be unemployed if it wasn’t for gerrymandering.

^is this official? Or ???

Ohio Congressional Redistricting / Gerrymandering
^to both sides this situation when GOP members in congress are holding up HR1 and the John Lewis voting rights act and other watered down versions of it to appease “moderates” is a joke. One side does this much more than the other, and one side is actually trying to prevent it immediately going forward. also most of the states that have independent commissions that aren’t messed with are blue. This independent commission is being circumvented by the Gym Jordan fan club. come on.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
Perfect shot for why a road diet might be necessary to account for new residents and their ability to walk/bike the neighborhood.

Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
Per cleveland.com Ultimate Air is pulling out of Burke. Not sure our region needs 3 mediocre airports with one on prime land but oh well. Hopefully this pull out leads to a less investment in the airport and we can start a transition.

Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
Newburgh and Linndale both are cleveland schools. Those should be the easiest and first to pursue. Next would be East Cleveland depending on the conditions. I don’t understand how this isn’t a higher priority for state politicians. I do Bc I know they only care about certain groups.

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
Drove this earlier today and couldn’t help but think of the rapid by its side and imagine if we had used the same amount of $ on transit. The fact that we’re still building new roadways in a region with stagnant population is mind boggling. I desperately want to be proved wrong in the long term about this, but currently bummed.
