grillage

This is not exactly something to be proud of. No restaurant owner is happy about closing early because the kitchen staff was unprepared for the business it did. I had brunch there last week and was really disappointed. The service was almost as bad as Wildflour's was and the food was just okay.

In the last 9 months they have demolished about 15 houses. I have a house down there and they tore 6 down within sight of it. It's nice that the city is finally taking some interest in that part of Eastern. It is getting a lot better.

The House at 4390 Eastern Ave is down already -- It was owned by a man who owned 4371 Eastern (torn down a few months ago) and owns 4352 and 4358 (there are two houses at 4358 -- one behind the other). He died without a will but with 5 condemned houses. I was down there yesterday and 4358 is being emptied in preparation for tearing down. The demo permits have been pulled too. I lived down the street for 4 years and all of those properties have been vacant at least that long. Finally that part of Eastern is being cleaned up. There are a lot of decent houses down there too.
