Fairfield County: Developments and News
PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSo I had a family member who was driving around downtown Pickerington and noticed some development down there. So I found these two articles: https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/local/communities/pickerington/2021/09/10/mixed-use-development-olde-pickerington-village-expected-completed-november/5754202001/ https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/local/pickerington/2021/07/01/pickerington-plots-course-land-uses-through-new-comprehensive-plan/5304282001/ I feel like there may be more but that's a start. And I agree with cbussoccer that we should have a Pickerington thread.

Grandview Heights: Grandview Yard
PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionTrue, but even in the Arena District, you have more landmarks, like Huntington Park, Nationwide Arena itself, and the glass North Bank condos and some other towers (1 Nationwide, AC Hotel) backing the edge which helps to diversify the look. Grandview Yard is just solely 5 story brick blocks back to back.

Grandview Heights: Grandview Yard
PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI would love to see something taller here. The cohesiveness of the area is nice, but when you're driving through it most of the buildings & aesthetic just blends together. Would like something more stand-out or focal point material.

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
Agreed. I've met people who commuted from Zanesville, Cambridge, Athens, and Canton to the Columbus area for work. Meanwhile 30mi one way is too much for me.

Columbus: Random Development and News
One thing that always concerned me about Little Turtle was that the intersection at Little Turtle Way and Longrifle looks like a real choke point. If anything happened there (emergency, accident, etc), God forbid, wouldn't all those residents be stranded?

I agree! I always thought those buildings had a nice harmony.

Ooh, that looks like the same rendering from the affordable housing project in the Easton thread.

PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThe former Magic Mountain? Darn, never knew it closed. Especially since I thought that was supposed to be the better and more successful of the two.

Columbus: OSU Medical Center Expansion
PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThat's great! My only sorrow is that the new tower will completely eclipse the James from those western angles.

I'm not sure if anyone's interested, but here's a shot of Gravity 2.0 from the other side of I-70 by Liberty place.
