Reynoldsburg: Developments and News
So let's revisit this hotel topic with some pictures, because even though Home2Suites has been open for a while now, I don't think anyone posted any.

Agreed. I know driving through the city on the interstate is not a proper way to experience the city but boy do I get jealous when I can clearly see multiple Polaris / RT 256 style exits driving through our peers, and Columbus you just see essentially the first 1-2 exits into the metro and then mostly nothing of note until downtown unless you're on 315.

So is the Rice Bowl sign staying? I know I would be the type of person to drive by thinking there's a restaurant there...and even make plans to go, just to be disappointed in the end.

I thought Columbus in general does a pretty good job from shielding development from interstates. We have a lot of trees and soundwalls in most areas.

Okay, I get it--It's a play on the time 2:29! Just make sure when hosting/inviting to be clear. Don't say the party's at Two Twenty Vine, then turn around and say it's at 6:30. You'll confuse people.

Looks better than I Imagined!

Yeah, I get that. Just to clarify, I don't have an issue with getting another hotel in the area, and would be glad to give visiting relatives more options. I was just critiquing the placement of it back-to-back-to-back. I would say the same thing if it was 4 gas stations or 4 pizza shops in a row. It's me nitpicking. Edit: I guess Home2Suites is gonna be like, "So...do you want a view of our competitor, the Marriott or our competitor the Fairfield Inn"? 😛

Columbus: Downtown: Merchant Building
I guess I must be out of touch, because I thought Hilton was luxury.

Wow. 4 Consecutive hotels between Olive Garden and Best Buy. I'm all for development there but I can't help but feel that sounds a bit too manufactured, I wish they could've mixed up the land use a little bit.

Columbus: Brewery District Developments and News
Please tell me the 'virtual reality salon' is more of an interactive room where people can engage in shared or individual virtual reality experiences and not just a place where you *virtually* get your hair and nails done.

Delaware County: Rts 36/37 at I-71 / Northstar Developments and News
I'm excited for this! Though I can't help but feel like it'll be a replica of Polaris Pkwy and Ikea Way in terms of distributing the traffic. I could've sworn that I read earlier that the interchange was going to be named Wilson Rd. So I'm much happier about Sunbury Parkway because we have too many duplicate roadnames in Columbus. (Wilson & West side Wilson Rd, multiple Taylor Rds, Hamilton Rd & Hamilton Ave, Broadway Grove City and Broadway by Riverside Hospital...) *Sees Sunbury Rd* Oh...shoot.

Columbus: Brewery District Developments and News
Yeah, I was looking forward to this alignment for a while, and this looks like an awkward compromise. But as long as I can turn left onto High, I'll take it. Do they need to? I mean it's a garage so...can't they...work that in to the experience?

Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
I know by actual definition, Long is in the middle of Downtown, but it feels like you're traveling along the edge. (Along with some other builds on the North side of the street) I would look forward to this tower making a difference 🙂

Grandview Heights: Grandview Yard
PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI'd kind of have trouble believing that. Outside of their clubhouse, this complex seems pretty stingy on amenities given its size. But overall, yes, I agree it's a nice building with some good landscaping elements.

Columbus: Downtown: Merchant Building
It's actually hard to imagine the skyline prominently extending north past Nationwide Tower, but we won't just have one, but more like a cluster of buildings here. This section of the Arena District can basically feel seamless with downtown from a high-rise perspective!

Grandview Heights: Grandview Yard
PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYou know, it looks like we never really got any completion photos of the Devon, so I'm posting them here. Better late than never right?

Columbus: Downtown: Merchant Building
I've concluded that's not really possible unless you get an aerial shot, haha. High Street N/S doesn't have all the skyscrapers...Broad St has a large number too, and just getting a view that accommodates the stretch from Hilton/Merchant Tower to the Franklin County Courthouse is most likely going to leave all the buildings behind Rhodes Tower hidden.

Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
Yeah, I've been following this closely and it's still weird for me too. I'm trying to think of ways I would integrate the new directions into my commutes but struggling lol. I know I'm going to think twice before turning left onto Front or Marconi from Long & Spring! Can't just wheel my way from and to the lefternmost lanes!

Columbus: Easton Developments and News
You know somebody's going to take up on the idea, and try to repackage it as an ancient-ruins-inspired Memorial park.
-
Columbus: Random Development and News
I think it's only a matter of time. 😉 But looking at that picture again...Whoa I do not recall there being so many cars in that lot. I always remember it being like 1/3 full!

Columbus: Random Development and News
Fresh paving for both sides of Marconi now with new crosswalks. I will say the striping for those look really nice.
-
Columbus: Eastland Developments and News
Very nice. I think it's slightly strange that the best of the community seems hidden from Hamilton, Refugee and the highway, but I like how it flows into the residential and the parkspace. MUCH better to have the Veronin/Natalia Dr houses integrated into a neighborhood instead of literally being accessed off of a mall parking lot entrance.

Columbus: Random Development and News
So the paving for the two-way Marconi conversion has finally begun. Long and Spring have also been freshly paved too.

Columbus: Downtown: The Madison / 100 North High
I got a few more! I would say I got a couple of quick ones, but I was walking at a leisurely pace on High Street during that break, so I wouldn't quite call them quick. I really like the facade/windows from the south side. 4
