  1. I'll be getting London/urban England vibes from the curvature of the architecture! And to be fair, the parking is small (footprint/area wise) compared to other portions of the Yard. The aesthetic looks nice and should complement the Devon, my only criticism is they should allow for more retail.
  2. Trying to decide whether or not I want to put money on New Albany or Groveport 🤔 I'm going to say New Albany.
  3. It looks nice, and I'm sure it's just my personal hangups, but I know one thing...I'm not parking on the roof of that garage.
  4. Kind of as the user @columbus17 said, Pictures don't do this justice. The building looks taller and structurally more prominent in person. The building looks huge from the NE over by PINS and Jackie O's.
  5. Hmm, but I just see a level of diversity and elegance here that I just don't see to the same extent with the current buildout. Still hoping for the best though.
  6. Snatched a quick one of 1350 W 5th while I was out gettin my Chinese food. I think I'm starting to learn from @CbusOrBust
  7. Is it notably clearer or more visible than what it was before?
  8. Looks like we've added 2 new floors since our last update.
  9. I remember the Diley Rd area seemingly like such a missed opportunity when I was a kid to only see the Meijer and the Medical Center come to fruition with nothing to eat but a McDonald's. Now we have Chipotle, Taco Bell, Sheetz, and a large-scale mixed-use development plan that conceptually proposes a big-box/grocery, a pharmacy, and multiple retail and restaurant outlots, plus an apartment complex all at the SE corner of Diley & Busey. https://goodmanrealestate.com/listings/serenity-commons/ Would love to see more commercial come through there and see if it could possibly deflect some of the traffic & bustle off of 256.
  10. I don't know why, but I saw the thumb and thought of the Broad & Hamilton Whitehall project.
  11. Here's another angle: Corner of High & Gay with the Current art installation overhead and the tower crane.
  12. So, it was mentioned earlier briefly that a new library branch in Canal Winchester was being proposed, and I don't think anyone's posted about it yet. So, I found more definitive data on it. "Columbus Metropolitan Library will be opening a new branch at 123 Groveport Road, across from the Canal Winchester pool. The branch will be 30,000 square feet. They intend to start construction in the summer of 2024 and complete the project in the summer of 2025." I'm no longer a Dirt Lot 😀
  13. Franklinton is a short walk? 😮 You must be more athletic than I am.
  14. I mean, it doesn't just affect the parents. Kids are aware of class/socioeconomic difference as well. Having grown up in Pickerington, North and Central definitely had a rivalry, and Central was seen as the ghetto school whereas North was the wealthy/uppity one. In my experience, don't recall there being too many problems though considering they were 3 miles apart (and that's a distance for a teenager!) but being side-by-side I could definitely see it more possible.
  15. You know...on a side note...I've noticed and wondered how it was always cloudy or a gloomy overcast in all your pictures. Now I know it was intentional.
  16. And there's something sterile about Franklinton, Scioto Peninsula, Italian Village, Grandview Crossing/Yard...it all feels 'too new'. There's just a quality that gives a boost to its desirability (imo) is knowing that an area feels 'settled in', that the businesses have longevity and the buildings/landscaping got to age a little bit with some familiarity. Just seeing so many "For Lease" signs and wondering what business is going to occupy the bottom floor is not exciting for me, it produces an edgy feel that I hope that I like what comes of the next space. I love Downtown Columbus when it comes to our festivals and events, but I will continue to say that I hope we get a grocer, more restaurants and amenities!
  17. But is that really the best comparison when our latest Hilton looked like this? It looks like one of those Public Storage office buildings.
  18. I got some new pictures. Note how both the Rhodes Tower and the Continental Center will get obscured =o
  19. Now Disneyland I can see, but if we treated it like it was SimCity, we'd be allowing any skyscraper to rise up , just as long as our population was over 50,000 =P
  20. I honestly just can't imagine that happening, but that would revolutionize the south side/whole metro even if that were to happen! But even just a big box store would be big news for that area.
  21. So both the Walmart and the Kroger will be gone? So I guess it's Aldi or Grove City for all things groceries then?
