  1. The roadmap for the site looks too dead-endy for a downtown imo but otherwise looks like an exciting project and I'm glad that space and extension is getting filled in!
  2. (Quote-un-Quote - "Columbus" but actually New Albany) area
  3. It's been a long time since somebody posted pictures like these from Reynoldsburg! 😀 That medical center certainly looks taller and more of a presence than the rendering suggests.
  4. 6 Stories now?? Now we're talking an improvement!
  5. I'm on the fence about these houses. They look clean (perhaps in a sterile way), neighborly and approachable/walkable from a pedestrian perspective. But a couple of things bother me. Some of these residences (not so much the SFH, but the row homes) are quite literally "off-the-grid" where the front door faces a courtyard and the back garage door faces an unnamed alley. In a society where 95%+ of addresses can reliably be found by scanning the addresses from the street, does anyone see any safety/convenience issues with that? In emergencies, deliveries, guests/parties? How is the snow removal on these access points, and how can you really plow snow with no negative space to dump the residue. And even though I'm not an outdoorsman big on yard-space, for that kind of money, I would certainly want enough grass that I could play catch with my kids, or have a backyard BBQ with friends without feeling cramped for space or privacy.
  6. Did nobody announce that this was happening??
  7. I had learned probably like 30-40 minutes in that there was a puzzle, but it's very passively presented. I literally just bought my ticket and stepped through a doorway that I think most people were using as the exit. It's not like COSI with the Adventure Exhibit or Space Exhibit where it launches you into the theme or almost forces you to go across the bridge, you just kind of wander from room to room. The place needs clear designated areas and a way to introduce their visitors.
  8. This is Great news! Maybe I need to give Otherworld another shot. When I first stepped through the door I was initially immersed and excited....but then I kinda saw how you just freely walked through the rooms (some fo them don't transition smoothly) and I remember being done in just under an hour. I thought there was going to be more of a puzzle or performance aspect to the experience. But I love art and sci-fi/fantasy so a concept like this should be a home run with me. Maybe I need to give it another chance? Either way I'm glad they're expanding. Would love to see what they can do, and even Brice Road isn't the greatest, glad that space is being used.
  9. The connotations you're making about "whatever, wherever" make it sound like we're putting up oil refineries and fireworks stores. A project like this lacking urbanity is not a negative in my mind, it's just a project that's not fully maximizing its positives. I'm all for redesigning the layout as it's not something I'm in love with. But at the end of the day, I think the real question boils down to: If the developer refuses to amend the project in the name of urbanity, is it worth rejecting the proposal? Is it worth rejecting the proposal when future interest in this particular parcel is uncertain and it may be years (and potential pandemics or recessions later) before something ever comes down the pipeline again? I know we can have the optimism living in Columbus but you just never know what state's/country's/world's future holds. Call me skeptic, I just see little potential in this individual site, even though I want to. But while some see a precedent and what we allow getting built, I see that getting something--even a plan as that--develops momentum that can inspire bigger and greater things to carry forward.
  10. To me when I look at those arches, I see a half-pipe and it brings out the THPS2 skateboarder in me.
  11. I don't get why this site is being criticized so heavily? It's a wooded area cornered in by railroad, a Salvation Army warehouse and auto repair shops. It's no more "prime real estate" than the other southside developments are similar in scope and design which have been gratefully received. Why does the Rice Bowl conversion get the thumbs up when it's no different (and in a comparable or arguably better location)?
  12. I don't mean to be a downer, and it'soverall a good addition to the area, but I just wish all these apartments weren't practically identical to The Residences at Central Park, Adams Pointe, The Reserve at Walnut Creek, Victoria Manor and The Monarch on East Broad.
  13. Here are some updated pictures of the Morrison: And...Another dirt lot!
  14. Trying to determine whether the U in your acronym stands for "up" or "you". Well that's somewhat of a relief, but I can still think of scenarios where you would want that 70 to 315 access from the near-westside. It's too much of a hassle snaking up and through Franklinton to get to Grandview Avenue or 315.
  15. ALSO I think it's worth noting that the exit to 315 N from I-70 WB is now from the RIGHT lane instead of the middle left. No more dodging through lanes of traffic when getting onto 70 from downtown!
  16. I mean, I'll give Clover Valley a 7.5/10 it sounds kinda scenic, almost like a setting in a fantasy novel. Don't have a problem with Mink either! Green Chapel...yeah we can do better.
  17. I mean, by looking at the rendering, the height wasn't the only thing that got changed from the actual build. I mean check out the windows and the facade of the garage.
  18. The new Hilton looks so beautiful 😍 The Scioto Peninsula/Franklinton area too
  19. A bet of that timespan is quite the commitment. Hopefully you remember 7 years from now!
  20. Architecturally, it looks like it's trying to compete with Clark Hall / Eastland-Fairfield Career Center in Gahanna. I like it.
  21. Fifteen stories should be enough to help close the gap in our skyline! 😀
  22. I'll make sure to visit just for that signature scent.
