Columbus: Easton Developments and News
No Tlm, you're probably in the top 10 most sane people that I see around Central and Southeast Ohio forum. 😉

Columbus: Easton Developments and News
Though I agree with your point, truth be told, I would've never been able to tell this is Austin's "Easton". This looks more like a Crosswoods equivalent.

Columbus: Downtown: Merchant Building
Wow...these pictures really give my title as a Dirt Lot a whole new meaning.

Gahanna: Developments and News
I say go for it. There needs to be a little more at that corner. That article also needs a "be" in between "It would" and "walking distance". Also, would High Bank Distillery patrons be the kind of strangers they would want near the children's school?

Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionOf course! I was only joking 😉

PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI don't know if The Pierce on Oak Street would've liked the competition.

PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI don't know, I'm getting more Franklinton vibes from this rather than Downtown.

Columbus: Random Development and News
Ugh, not thrilled about the warehouse space. Wish it was all just residential (You know how I feel about juxtaposing low-density residential). But I'm surprisingly happy about extending Westbourne and the Sheetz is a nice little bonus too.

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I was actually pretty happy about the Allegheny proposal. That side of town doesn't see much action. =/

Columbus: West Scioto Area Developments and News
It pretty much literally is suburban living without the conveniences (shopping/restaurants/gas etc) in the city proper without those conveniences (good connectivity, events/entertainment, bars/food scene etc). And yet it will be marketed just as competitive property as anywhere else in the city.

Columbus: West Scioto Area Developments and News
Area is in desperate need of retail.

Columbus: Franklinton Developments and News
This picture makes Columbus look so much more layered with low-to-high rises. I just know that as a kid so many pictures of Columbus had angles that just show the skyscrapers with what appears to be almost nothing between or in front of them.

I like how the AEP Building kinda snuck in one of your shots.

Whitehall: Developments and News
Lol, probably not the best person to answer this, but when I was in Gahanna, I went to Whitehall for: Church King Gyros on Hamilton Town & Country area when finding a halfway point to meet with friend from Old Town East A coworker strongly recommended Indochine Cafe (but never been) I went to Dukem Ethiopian Restaurant which was fantastic (but according to Google they're closed now), there are other Ethiopian restaurants in the area though. A vet hospital at Main and Hamilton.

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
Technically it's a hip roof, but I agree. They make the design appear more suburban.

New Albany: Developments and News
PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think this was missed among all the industrial/data center development. Article is old, but the construction over there certainly isn't. According to Google, you can see the hotel right from the highway. https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/local/new-albany/2020/01/10/holiday-inn-express-planned-at/1909248007/

Columbus: Random Development and News
Hey Everyone! Google Earth has new imagery for the north-side of Columbus! It appears to start at a latitude just North of Lane Ave, or at roughly Agler Road if you're on that east side, and continues up from there. I suppose the rest of Columbus will be coming down the pipeline shortly! Check out some progress areas: Kingsdale: Riverside: Stelzer!:

Columbus: Random Development and News
Let's find out! =D East Colossus @ Lucent is 0.12 square mi. Bridge Park is roughly 0.07 sq mi And to tell you the truth, I don't really know where Jeffrey Park starts and ends but it's roughly 0.08 sq mi. So bigger than each, pushing the size of both combined if we include Cherry Blossom!

But how can you extend McNaughten Road without tearing down the Mt Carmel office?

Nice continuity. Puts this thread back in the right direction, lol

Columbus: Easton Developments and News
I would like to either see that, or see developers incorporate more landscaping/community functions in their complexes. Plenty of older apartments within the city have walkways and intermediate areas that practically feel like parkland or even a little campus between the apartments. What even happened to tennis courts? Now everything is "optimized" to shoehorn as many units as possible with 1-2 parking spaces allocated for each. When your plot of land is an "L" who would really want to live in the building that is wedged between two light-industrial/office buildings rather than find a more inventive way to use the space?

Columbus: OSU Medical Center Expansion
PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI don't know, sounds a bit rude. We shouldn't just welcome the new tower by calling it fat.

Columbus: OSU Medical Center Expansion
PrestoKinetic replied to buildingcincinnati's topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI kind of wish that the windows were horizontally paneled. I think the topping out picture looks really nice, and the contrast is a fine, healthy amount. Many buildings in Columbus have weak & strong angles but I don't think that the Med's Centers low points will be so drastic as to overturn the beauty of the tower.

New Albany: New Albany International Business Park / Silicon Heartland
I don't think New Albanians will like this comparison, but with all this recent development, it's like a fancier, data-center equivalent of the Groveport/Rickenbacker area.
