Cleveland: Random Development and News
Anyone know if there’s been any movement on where the new Cleveland MLS Next pro team will play if they plan to still debut in 2025 feels like things would need to starting being prepared

the four story building would really make for some great apartments with good vibes courtesy of mulberry’s

The self storage building of any of the buildings in the block should stay. Feels like they could build something similar north of this block in the parking lot or do the plan w/o the demo and put the courtyard stuff on the parking lot to the north. I don’t think this will work out for them, there’s also so many oceans of parking lots down there they should be developing on the lots before demoing anything of significance, and get building a parking garage.

No discussion of the loading/unloading area they did ask them to look into manhole access in that area as well as relocating the bike racks- Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Here’s what the saucy expansion is going to look like… extended patio that goes on to church and new garage door. The only thing not approved is the awning they didn’t like how big it is and the color being black felt like too much black- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Costal California and 30 mins inland is worse that’s for certain.- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
And they don’t come without a fight about parking, height that’s going to cause a shadow, block the view of the sky, skyline, lake etc the residents are consistent here, remember park place townhomes only 2 years ago was supposed to be apartments and the neighbors were threatening lawsuits. And while listening to the meeting when this project was being presented height was brought up 4-5 times and that’s after they already presented that the height would be the same as the townhomes next to them. I also wouldn’t say the land of the Edison apartments is comparable to this plot of land that’s surrounded by existing single family homes and townhomes- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Based on the conversation mentioning height several times, I’m guessing it wouldn’t have been welcomed- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
From Friday- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
TV rev split etc makes the most sense to me but something tells me no owner wants to set that type of precedent- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Wouldn’t be the first second or third ownership group to own another team in the MLS, as it’s operated as a single entity “owners” act only as operators and really only invest in the league itself not the team alone. However this would likely be the first where the markets would be so close making it unlikely.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Same ownership, so they don’t have to worry about renting out a venue that’s too big to return enough revenue- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Are they putting up a new name on the stadium?- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Agreed, however the bike box there also gets overflowed and runs out space as well- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
we’ve been trying to get something around the browns stadium for so long but yet some how a smaller league like the mls that makes 56x less in revenue than the nfl has no problem building/planning these sports village developments in no time not to mention two in our own state. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2023/07/28/fc-cincinnatis-stadium-area-development-to-include-music-venue/70488337007/- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Agreed, honestly could be even hotter plus would bring more attention to the often overlooked cultural gardens. I do think something like a sugar beach in Toronto would be nice. Don’t need to build an actual beach just a sandy area close to the water.- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Edgewater is frequently shut down and people have to park in the grass. The people are showing there is more demand for a beach/lakefront park in Cleveland than we currently offer - Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
