  1. Sounds like we could have a completely new mixed use version of what they did for the Brooklyn Nets. If only the browns didn’t double down in Berea we could have some really upscale new districts (not to mention some extra income tax revenue) https://www.ssr-inc.com/projects/hss-center-brooklyn-nets-training-center/
  2. I live in the quarter 1, but I I feel the quarter 2 was far more thought out as far as the common areas go (especially with the rooftop, what a miss for Q1, the “rooftop” is on the second story) the apartments have the same finishes just different windows/layouts. I should move to a house but it’s so hard to leave waking up and looking out to lake and the city every morning and being able to walk and bike to everything. The apartments are great though, no complaints. Just wish they didn’t have the surface lots and some more green space or something like the public space at church and state would have been a better use of space. Sorry to go off topic
  3. From the Quarter 2’s rooftop
  4. I was actually just thinking about that the other day since city club is about to be wrapped up. The cranes reflect what we follow everyday in these forums… the city developing. But is a beacon for the average people out there that the city’s developing and brings on conversations like what’s going on over there from everyone like nothing else really does. Happy to hear we won’t be crane-less for long Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. yesterday was so nice mentally I was thinking it was June lol, thank you
  6. Actually had a more recent photo Left 4/12 Right today 5/27 So it’s seems like 4-5 steel levels are completed every 2 1/2-ish months
  7. 2/25/23 left - showing the previous crane jump in progress and the concrete core just below Rockefeller Today 5/27/23 right - showing the result of the recent crane jump and steel just above Rockefeller and just below 55 public square
  8. It’s funny how if that same building was in OHC tremont university circle Gordon square and a developer was going to tear it down the commission would be up in arms but because it’s a city backed project they’re just free to do whatever (although I do realize the other neighborhoods are in historic districts)
  9. https://www.youtube.com/live/7snY4pDFIWA?feature=share Minute 59:00, appears to be a breakfast lunch spot
  10. Sam McNulty opening another bar in OHC Uncertain on location is it possible this is what’s going in on the corner of w28th and Detroit or are we certain that’s an oyster bar
  11. I found the directors praise of demo-ing quite confusing “correcting history”… were correcting history by taking down architectural history?
  12. Right or https://planning.clevelandohio.gov/designreview/drcagenda/2023/PDF/slides/CPC-presentation-05-19-2023.pdf
  13. Well worth going through the presentation today. The amount of trees is absolutely awesome to see. They said phase 1 is the area highlighted above will be 5 years. The focus is bulk head restoration, working on open spaces first, getting needed infrastructure in. They’re focused creating the why you want to be here before building the how you’ll live/work here Also mentioned it would be a 3 phased development
  14. Still have a bunch of NJ, NY, MI, and Canadian plates at my apartment. Most of the NJ and NY folks are here for med school/residency a few of them that I’m friends with actually plan on staying here after residency but likely move to Cleveland heights or shaker
  15. As someone who has rented in OHC for years and knows of many people that live here as well. I’d say crime was absurd during the pandemic. Post pandemic it hasn’t been much of a problem, although Tremont seems to be the true hot bed of crime. My building and other stay filled and generally stay full with the same folks. The amenities that this area offers is something the suburbs and pretty much any city with its population cannot complete with not to mention at a steep discount. The folks that move to suburbs as I’ve found go to avon, avon lake, bay, shaker, Westlake, Brecksville, and Lakewood generally and they leave only because it’s cheaper to own something nice in those suburbs than it is within the city and they were done with paying rent, however every single one of them struggled to leave and knew they were walking away from something special. But you’re right I’ll ultimately need to leave soon as well because I can’t reason sending my future kids to private school and certainly can’t fathom sending them to Cleveland city schools but I don’t think that’s much different than anywhere else. As someone who left and came back, Cleveland does literary have so many amenities of big cities and so much history/wide array of cultures also found in big cities. I think it is as great as this forum makes it out to be, just others may fail to look around and realize how great it is but I always encourage the hate as I think that’s what keeps it affordable. Cleveland I do believe is a hidden gem that’s the butt of many jokes and I’ll take it
  16. Am I remember incorrectly I thought only a portion of the Bobby George building was coming down. I thought the portion/wing with the bill board was remaining
  17. Not surprised by the cincy stats she’s a country pop star from Tennessee. Cincy is a perfect central spot for her audience
  18. There is the lake front path but yes agreed it itself is not friendly to any form of transportation. They addressed the fact that the west Shoreway doesn’t have any of that, they said it did have crosswalks intersections etc planned but fell through because of the people that lived near by or something didn’t want it I forget the exact details wish I still had access to the chat log
  19. That’s just how the river bends it’s showing the view from the south flats
  20. Sneak peak of Bedrocks presentation for tomorrows city planning
  21. Dropped in on the north coast connector meeting, some of my take aways: They’re still looking at I-90 and that will dictate what they do with the boulevard # of lanes, intersections, crosswalks. “The County is designing a multi-use path along North Marginal from East 9th to East 55th. The Connector project would keep that path and add more paths where possible, including along the boulevard.” “A portion of North Marginal would remain and a portion would be absorbed into the boulevard” - Vickie Wildeman | Osborn Engineering ODOT wants to improve deadman’s curve but lack funding General consensus: • people generally didn’t want any version of Shoreway • want a combined transit center • concerns the boulevard idea even with crosswalks and traffic lights would turn into Clifton in Lakewood /the Shoreway west boulevard • people want the land bridge
  22. remember it will include a pocket park in front and they said after they were done with the main building they will look to build another building there
  23. Correct, except this happens frequently at the W28th exit because it takes drivers down to a 3 way stop sign and causes a back up not to mention a back up in the left lane generally used for faster traffic Also yes crashes happen far to frequently on the bridge 7x out of 10 because of the entrance off of W28th is blind left lane merge
  24. LIVE Reminder of how useless and inefficient the shoreway is even for the one form of transportation it was built for
  25. New population numbers, I think? Shows through 2022 not sure if this data has been published for long https://www.census.gov/data/tables/time-series/demo/popest/2020s-counties-total.html
