Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I mean to say this every time we have a big event in cleveland and/or race of some kind but this whole we need to study the Shoreway to see if it make sense remove it as a highway…. At the times where the Shoreway would be the most useful they close off all the exits to downtown and Ohio city causing grid lock, not to mention it’s a part of just about every marathon and cycle marathon (whatever are called) so we literally go without several times a year. What message does this send to the public? We can do without it, it’s exits cause traffic flow issues and/or security risks, so we actively discourage using it when you actually need to get downtown. Can we just kill the highway and if we keep the structure maybe keep 2 lanes for cars then throw a street car/extra RTA line and ped/bike friendly route.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Makes you wonder how many gabs could be filled in our skyline if every remaining parking lot had a high rise/skyscraper. (Given our skyline from looking from the east side looks pretty filled)

Cleveland: Random Development and News
I’d put all my marbles on this being bedrock related, it fits the bill especially if saying where they’re from would give it away. them saying I’m from Detroit plus it’s a “large, game-changing development” wouldn’t leave much up to the imagination Was there a hint of ford doing anything else aside from updating its plant in Avon Lake to produce EVs?

Did we know there were 3 phases before? The one shown in the article looks like a different parcel from the phase 2 that we knew about

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
I would guess that would be the cities purview and I don’t remember hearing anything about it in the public meetings this project has been a part of

Forget if there’s a south flats thread but here’s an update from Cleveland Whiskey stating they’ve bought the neighboring building to pair with their existing project: “we signed a long-term lease on a historic building in the Flats a while back. We’re in the middle of putting in the plumbing, electrical, a new roof, a sprinkler system, and of course, writing a lot of checks. I’d always wanted to buy it but at the time, the landlord didn’t want to sell. That’s changed. We’re not only buying 601 Stones Levee but a bigger parcel that includes the neighboring building at 501, as well as the space in between which is pretty exciting in and of itself. It’s an old red brick city street, decommissioned years ago and now something we’ll ultimately use for concerts, special events, outdoor dining, maybe some weddings, and who knows what else.”

Slow day for the CPC meeting today, only real significant update was heritage park II. Which received approval but left a question of who was going to maintain the park- Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
They should send these over to sherwin williams. They seem to have difficulty being creative on their own- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
In the recent design review meeting apparently it was too much to ask SW to add benches anywhere on the property- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Agreed the immediate neighbor it’s doesn’t contrast well but it does contrast well against cyan park on the other side of the storage place- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News

Last on the topic I promise, here’s KJPs article on the multiple phase 3s to come with renders https://neo-trans.blogspot.com/2020/10/flats-east-bank-to-begin-massive-new.html- Cleveland: Random Development and News

In case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s Ken’s piece in Cleveland magazine https://clevelandmagazine.com/in-the-cle/the-read/articles/will-cleveland-ever-develop-its-lakefront-new-plans-are-a-step-closer- Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development

Exactly KJP and along the same lines of how I see it used every time I’m there. The commission approved it without thought or context of how the space is used. Unfortunate really, also the double sidewalk is a bit over kill. Cool monument but there’s also a parking lot that could have been used or a corner of the walkway or not to mention the two malls that have far more green real estate that could have offered similar view.- Cleveland: North Coast Harbor Developments
Today CP approved the installation of a new monument at voinovich park. Personally this is the one area I would have liked to see a green space stay a green space, would have preferred something like this to eat into the parking lot over there but oh well- Cleveland: North Coast Harbor Developments
