Could certainly be polarizing if one didn’t an ounce of research. Thought it was funny the applicant got up during the presentation to demonstrate

In more upbeat news across the street from the “pending” ax throwing place, the Spice building is gaining a new restaurant. Pretty excited to see that space in use

I thought this was stalled… in a recent city meeting Jenny Spencer was 100% against ax throwing in her neighborhood and the approval was tabled unless something changed yesterday. (I don’t think she’s noticed it’s been a growing trend for years)

Some of the best leverage the city has in the negotiations especially if they went with the east of downtown site is eminent domain

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Agreed, these are just business deals and cities don’t have the personnel to be able to negotiate such deals. Owning a NFL team as they say is a money printing machine it doesn’t make sense for cities not to benefit more. However, there likely could be an argument for the amount of economic impact that is made on a yearly basis, get ahold of those figures maybe these numbers don’t seem as crazy. Just as an example over just 3 day NBA all star event the net economic impact was $248.9 million….

They could really just do the bare minimum at this point and open it as an event space especially for the demand for such spaces now

Completely agree, more often than not that’s what gies delivers. Glad they develop a lot around the city but their designs look like any hotel building the burbs. Really wish they took more inspiration from the original concepts that created a true neighborhood feel and a good pedestrian experience.

Cleveland: Downtown: Rockefeller Building Rehab-Additions
Personally love the way it is bold and stands out as it should, always enjoy when I bring someone from out of town and they see the building and they ask wait as in John Rockefeller? And then get to fill them in on John building his empire in Cleveland, they’re always shocked! Probably my favorite building in cle, awesome detail

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Honestly any time I go out in any of the entertainment areas they’re generally packed, long waits and especially in FEB where the lines are super long, not to mention the traffic into FEB and those are non-game days. Throw a guardians game, cavs game, browns game it’s hard to even get a single beer anywhere. I think we’re more than okay to add more, got to remember our downtown may not have a huge population but we also serve to entertain the 1.2m in the county and it shows.

Alright the Main Post Office site would be terrible, east of downtown makes the most sense aside from keeping it where it’s at, what did other stadiums in downtowns do about parking like us bank stadium, underground? Because that would be awesome. would this suggest shovels in ground for the Harlem lakefront development and land bridge before 2028 or is it being suggested commitments only?
