  1. Just some personal thoughts as someone that lives within view of Burke assuming it gets closed (as it should) I will miss seeing planes and helicopters come in throughout the day, seeing the random military aircraft come in, watching planes land overhead while at voinovich park, being able to watch the special landings of air force one and take offs of marine one, seeing the mass amount of private planes when big events come to the city, and the sense of multimodal transportation in the area at a given time you can have freighters trains and planes all appearing in the same shot and not to mention the air show experience all happening right on the lakefront. But that land can ultimately be used for so much more to benefit the residents and visitors of this city. (Not to mention the lifted height restriction) The city should prep for the fine, prepare a demo plan, and a master plan should be created in coordination with developers.
  2. Right and quick reminder, the city owns the land and can do what they want with relatively low fines from the FAA as proven in Chicago: “Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley forced the closing of Meigs in 2003 by ordering the overnight bulldozing of its runway without notice, in violation of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations….. In the aftermath, the "Meigs Legacy provision" was passed into law, increasing the maximum fine per day from $1,100 to $10,000.”

  9. Agree, the quality of materials also seems to be top notch. Listening to the meetings for little Italy projects also imo has the biggest push back from people and anyone that tries to do a project is set to the highest standard out of the historic districts. Guessing it has to do the size of the district the smaller the more every project matters and it’s easier to predict it’s impact where as in OHC for example they’re a lot more lenient
  10. Future renovations on mayfield rd, presented to the landmark commission. the back courtyard is a nice touch
  11. Tom Lix, CEO of Cleveland whiskey, on an update on the progress of their new building in the south flats “the facility itself, we’ve finally reached an agreement with a general contractor who’s started some of the necessary ripping out of old systems and ordering materials ranging from roofing to electrical conduit and ventilation equipment. I’m not ready to announce an opening date quite yet but we have booked our first wedding (December). “

  13. I appreciate the director taking accountability.
  14. Really should have moved up the meeting or have it early next week, we got a city to build over here
  15. Makes the quarter look tiny, Snavely really should have added a parking deck starting on the second floor to get some more height like church and state did. Also that way they wouldn’t need their parking lots, another missed opportunity. That being said I’m glad this developer is zero surface lot minded
  16. I think like the listing concepts show both could work nicely, as someone that lives down the road it’s really not terrible noise wise/it’s apart of the appeal to live where things are happening
  17. Although not presented they still showed what was going to be presented, I’d say looking through the concepts it’s relatively unclear what it would look like in real life The first imagine showing the green not being as obvious and being more glassy and the other showing the green being very bold like the cartoon concept we saw before
