  1. I flat out told their people it was the ugliest building I’ve ever seen. They’re like it’s housing. I go, in Cleveland Ave? You couldn’t put a little more effort? There’s tons of less visible lots on that campus to put a basic building like that.
  2. Wait what? They broke ground on that ugly pile of crap???
  3. I was “driving around” on Google Maps last night and based on the developments under construction, we don’t have near as many surface lots as it seems. Much less than other cities around us. I think we’re going to continue to see more vertically-inclined developments as much of the easily-developed land is built upon.
  4. I’ve heard they have issues getting the Blackwell occupied at times. I do believe that.as OSU starts more conferences and becomes a regional innovation center, this will change.
  5. I’ve been hearing that for two years now. I’m not holding my breath…
  6. But hey, I can't complain too much. All I need to do is find a way to be the guy to lease all the units and I win regardless.
  7. If the final version is the one on Page 49, I'm pretty happy. Only complaint is having the entire first 3-4 levels clad in brick.
  8. I'll push back on that. The original design looked like another boring monolith. I think this new design has much more character and a very timeless appeal. What was proposed before belongs on a much more developed area, and would have required some substantial use of quality materials (brick and limestone) should they have opted to continue with that massing.
  9. I hate that logo. The check mark screams cheap.
  10. It looks like a great opportunity to create some additional street activation, public art, and gathering spaces for dining, food trucks, or live music.
  11. I’m excited about the Creole kitchen. Great to see more retail on Long!
  12. It is wayyyy more expensive to dig down. Your ask would completely kill the project.
  13. I'm really starting to hate developers with in-house design teams, or "affiliates." Always seems to be haphazardly prepared, shotty work that should have been presented better. Geis in Cleveland is a 'fantastic" example of this.
  14. I am holding my tongue until I see the renderings but thus far I'm not very impressed with the design.
  15. We can hope and pray funding falls through or something else.
  16. I wonder if there'll install a button to call Marie?
  17. Someone donate another 30MM to get lots of trees!!!
  18. It didn't look like this though...
  19. Their architect should really have their license examined... there are so many things wrong with this design that go against common sense design principals. They haven't made a single effort to create setbacks in the facade and the random cornice is just stupid. Complete failure. Commission should have voted NO NO NO!!!
