  1. I really wouldn't be surprised if it was in the AD - even less if Kaufman somehow was involved. Though Edwards is a big supporter of local art as well... Edwards has yet to announce a project or site that would fit it though - he seems increasingly interested in residential. Honestly it would work in the land between the clippers stadium and Lower field - could also be in the SN, just space is crazy expensive there.
  2. It's better, yes, just looks unfinished. The bottom limestone needed some more work too. What really upsets me is how they weren't forced to redo the sidewalks/street lamps/trees per Columbus street guidelines. That corner is hideous and could have used it.
  3. I actually am not thrilled with it - unlike Madison they didn't make any effort to restore the original masonry. It's still in rough shape - especially at the top.
  4. This project belongs in the suburbs. It's even worse if its supposed to take up the entire block from Spring to Long.
  5. Just found the location. This project needs shot down completely. That's prime real estate on that corner - to just put a residential building there would be a huge mistake. They need to add a commercial component to it and the architecture needs some interest and thought.
  6. Given how much crap these commissions give developers, I hope this project gets dragged through that too. It looks like a Hilton - not characteristic at all of the WD. It needs red brick and a more appropriate massing (i.e. larger windows, more uniformity, large glass features as an offset). There also needs to be a plan for street activation, as there is not much happening at that level in this area.
  7. This is a tidbit of what is actually in the works.
  8. 2028 completion, construction starts next year in four phases.
  9. Park space is conceptual but much needed there. What a great idea to convert a parking lot to a park.
  10. Edwards is building one next to that
  11. City of Columbus, CDDC and Edwards Cos. partnering to bring downtown path to life The city of Columbus, Edwards Cos. and the Columbus Downtown Development Corp. are working together to develop the Capital Line, a 2-mile path that would better connect walkers and bikers to the urban core's amenities. https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2024/02/28/downtown-columbus-capital-line-path-amenities-core.html?utm_source=st&utm_medium=en&utm_campaign=BN&utm_content=CO&ana=e_CO_BN&j=34505151&senddate=2024-02-28
  12. I think you have to apply for city status.
  13. Schooley Caldwell did this one - I'm shocked if it doesn't pass. They're experts in historic structures.
  14. What a joke. The design is crap now because they've diluted it so much on this goose chase. The commission is basically trying to kill the project. Let's face it - High Street will have 10-20 story buildings soon. It's a hot area and land is scarce. The developer should just put the shovel in the ground and tell them to shove it. This commission performs like nothing other than a bureaucratic HOA.
  15. Rockbridge is making their own 5 star hotel? That's what I thought when I read that.
  16. They surely saved a buck reusing the same plans three times.
  17. It's history. There's plenty of other roads they can add stuff to.
  18. I like it - I just wish they would've replaced the building or added height to it.
