  7. Downtown I’d agree, most streets are easily wide enough to expand bike/pedestrian spaces without going one-way. But I could see these conversions making sense in most residential neighborhoods where sidewalks are pretty narrow and alternating travel directions each block would be pretty straightforward. The added time for looping around at the next street would be pretty minimal in a vehicle. The excess space could be used for (actually useful) bike infrastructure and wider sidewalks, and maintenance costs might go down in the long term since you’d only be maintaining one travel lane for heavy automobiles instead of two. Cleveland sees far too little traffic to maintain as much road infrastructure as we do.
  8. Case SRV expansion (7-2-23)
  9. The Allen marquee is up now and I actually like it more than the renderings. Here’s a photo I found on Instagram (not mine)… credit: @dsalcedomd76 https://www.instagram.com/p/CuFFqXst4TC/?igshid=OTcwY2Q1MjA0Ng==
  10. Only if those are *normally-sized* one way streets, the last thing we need is another superhighway pair with 4 lanes in each direction (Stokes Blvd & MLK I’m looking at you)
  11. Great video on the lower level of the Detrot-Superior bridge with footage of the abandoned subway tunnels

  15. It would probably be fairly popular, for Cleveland (on a riders per mile basis). Not all rail has to be suburban park-and-rides Edit: even though the 26/26A already serves the route, a short-distance train just going back and forth could probably have much more frequent headways and be competitive with walking/biking across.
  16. Even better comparison with Terminal Tower’s twin making a cameo in the background
  17. Central Recreation Center renovation (6-21-23) Louis C. Stokes Scholar House
  18. Noticed this on my ride down Euclid today - is this construction related or part of the PHSQ overhaul?
  19. After a week back home in New England, I can’t help but be angry at the lack of good intercity transportation in Ohio. I grew up in a town under 10,000 people in the most rurally-populated state in the country. I was no more than a 20 minute walk from a station with multiple trains a day to Boston (the ONLY major metro on the line) in addition to a bus service with connections to a major international airport. There is absolutely no reason why 3 urban areas in such close proximity, each with millions of people, should have anything less than frequent, reliable rail service let alone a spotty bus line that can’t be bothered to maintain preexisting downtown stations. 3C+D can’t be built soon enough.
  20. Not to mention the problems that might arise from tunnels, viaducts, heavy tree cover, tall buildings, etc. since GPS is satellite-based. Also cut-and-cover highway tunnels under slower city streets. Agree that 95 mph is far too high anywhere, though.
  21. Go check out their songs, my favorite is Bus Beach Party (Dracula)
  22. I agree. I know I mentioned this previously but the JC could benefit greatly from a paint job just like Seneca One in Buffalo. It could honestly be a pretty cool residential conversion—give it a fun name like The Verdict
  23. Hey, that’s not fair… molasses moves WAY faster than this
  24. Another floor at Library Lofts
