  1. That’s obviously an illogical conclusion from my statement. But if we are going to take things to absurd and illogical conclusions, yes, it’s much better to have density and apartments without yards around the rapid stops and public parks than it is to have sprawling suburban lawns with vast acreage for my stables. How are we losing sight of the value of density around transit? I live about a mile away from this spot, and you’re more likely to find a house that bought an empty lot next door and turned it into a garden than you are to find one with a subdivided lot and a home in the back. Anyways, based on the maps previously posted, you’re arguing for the preservation of an unused, empty lot, and both the houses pictures have yards.
  2. We should get rid of both houses, and their yards, and maybe some more houses and yards, and construct dense TOD by that rapid station There’s no shortage of green space by that intersection, it’s across the street from a pretty large park which connects to the Red Line Greenway, and it’s only a mile away from Edgewater.
  3. The last Lorain midway update was about a year ago on June 26. They were, at the time, hoping for A federal grant based on some recent (2023) awards for similar projects. Something tells me they might need to look for a different funding source over the next 3 years if we want this to move forward.
  4. Oops! I meant Westinghouse And we have seen demolition happen at Westinghouse and at the Zagelbaum site with no actual development to follow. I’m optimistic for Breakwater, but I’m not calling it a win just yet.
  5. It might not be totally halting development, but it’s at least a cooling effect. Besides the Shoreway Towers, nothing of scale has broken ground over here since Welleon opened. And projects were already getting canceled or postponed ambiguously because of inflation/rate issues: Westinghouse 8400 Lake The zagelbaum work on 70th If the Breakwater stuff and Watterson Lake actually come to fruition, I’ll be singing a different tune, but I’m not super bullish on the economics at present. Also, I’m not in the industry at all, so this is really all based on what activity I’m seeing and general vibes.
  6. I was having trouble finding the plans on the City’s site so I went to an old Neo Trans article to refresh my memory “To build the North Coast Connector requires lowering the Shoreway between West 3rd and East 9th streets. Here, the Shoreway is rising and curving south on a bridge over the lakefront tracks and several downtown streets before crossing the Cuyahoga River valley on a separate, mile-long bridge — Ohio’s longest.”
  7. Looks like Terrestrial is sticking around as-is
  8. Looks like we are getting a dispensary https://www.crainscleveland.com/cannabis/mavuno-expands-dispensary-network
  9. Anyone have updates on what’s planned for Market Ave this year? It was originally closed in September of 2023. Hopefully that’s been enough time to find planters and picnic tables for this summer.
  10. What steakhouse is in Gordon Square? Anyways, this sauna sounds like a good spot. Cold plunges in particular seem to be very popular right now, so it’s exciting to see one opening up in Cleveland.
  11. All of the Breakwater demolition was completed when I drove by this afternoon. The structures are all gone. There is still a decent amount of debris, but based on their pace I don’t expect it will be there for much longer.
  12. Good catch! It’s still here on their Website, so hopefully that is a good sign
  13. I think the surface lot development is part of “phase 3” or Kenect, which Ken teased in an article earlier this year (towards the end) Link Edit: I guess it’s not 2024 anymore! So that’s an article from last year
  14. Punchbowl, Alleycat, and Lindy’s all have brunch. Cocky’s is open every day at 7:30. I wouldn’t be surprised if a couple others do as well. I wouldn’t disagree with the perception of it as one note, but I can’t think of a more diverse entertainment district in Cleveland. Games and bowling at punchbowl, a variety of food options, a sports bar at ESPN, several different places for live music, rooftop bars at Glamper and Margaritaville. Country music, EDM, disco. If Alleycat goes, it’s certainly a loss - but it’s been open for about a decade. Hard to say that wasn’t a success.
  15. Probably this incident? But I don’t pay for their premium function so I can’t hear the police radio audio here. Found this on Facebook… Sounds like the second guy is the one caught by your former home?
