Kimberly-Clark announced on Thursday that they would be investing $800 million in a brand new manufacturing facility in Trumbull County (Warren, OH). This new site will employ close to 500 employees with annual payroll of around $49 million. It will be their 2nd largest manufacturing facility in the United States! This afternoon Governor Mike DeWine was in Niles, OH to announce the formation of the Lake to River Economic Development Agency, which will be the seventh and final regional agency of JobsOhio. This new agency will encompass Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana Counties, which were previously served by TeamNEO. There was a big push in the Mahoning Valley to make this happen and Governor DeWine bought in. About six weeks late on this, but the big announcement was Fortune 500 Kimberly-Clark will be building a massive manufacturing facility at the site of the former RG Steel in Warren, a site that was said to be the largest shovel-ready site in all of Ohio. Great to see this news come through yesterday. This in conjunction with the 20 Federal Place redevelopment efforts and the current construction work taking place to redevelop the Gallagher Building are all positive things for Downtown Youngstown!
