  1. Almost looks like "wavy" glass is part of the design.
  2. Speaking of Salesforce, there's always the slim hope that this project will feature similar, completely unforeseen effects.
  3. All interesting stuff. And yes, the Salesforce Tower was one of the projects I'd seen clearly removing the protective plastic during the installation. And wow - that Heatherwick Lantern House looks like the world's tallest York Steak House! hmmmm...
  4. Please forgive my ignorance/insolence, but is it being asserted here that the entire building will be covered with "protected" panels, then someone is going to go around the entire 42-ish stories and peel plastic off of a skyscraper? I've watched about thirty 40-plus-story buildings go up here in San Francisco, and I've never once seen glass this wavy or crews plastic-peeling an entire building. I'm strongly suspecting this is how this building is going to look. :/ Any construction people out there who know of this process?
  5. Okay, since folks seem to think things are a little slow now, and we're all waiting for windows and panels to start appearing, I'll throw this in: For anyone wondering (like I did), I finally put them together. It's not the exact angle, but it's kinda close.
  6. If you look closely at SW's schematic models, you can see the shape of the tapering elevator core.
  7. I've been noticing this for a long time. My first instinct was perhaps PC isn't very proud of the design - it strikes me as disappointingly similar to Owens Illinois'/One Seagate late 70's building in Toledo. But then I realized there are far more boring buildings on their site, so it must be Sherwin Williams. Imagine creating a shiny new home, but not wanting it noticed...
  8. Oh, here we go. Weird... I did a quick Photoshop from Mov2Ohio's "Top of the 9" shot. Tough combining a drawing with a photo, but for what it's worth...
  9. Hmm... I see "Insert image from URL", then shows a URL as an example. Seems like I have to post it somewhere else, then paste that URL? Seems like I can't select it from my drive and upload it. Thanks - I'll keep trying.
  10. Can anyone help me in how to add a photo to the thread? Thanks.
