Warriors haven't scored more than 110 points in any game in this series. Meanwhile in the three Cavs wins they've scored: 112, 115 and 120 points. Maybe the Warriors explode in Game 7 but I like what Klay said after the game. GSW has to be "tough" like the Cavs. Worried more about defense than offense. LeBron and Co. are totally taking them out of their game. I'm stunned at how fast the Cavs are getting in the Warriors' collective head especially after the Cavs' performances in Games 1 and 2.
  2. You mean someone from Maple Hts or Medina or Willoughby would intrinsically be better? Its not the City that can't run the airport---its that the mayor installs incompetent people. A More effective + more visionary mayor would result in a better choice for leadership and growth of the airports. THAT'S the problem---not that its run by the city. When is that vision going to come? I know first hand that there isn't an international passenger or cargo airline interested in starting service to Cleveland. In fact Cleveland does so little to market itself that some carriers reps don't even know who is running Hopkins now. It's embarrassing and unprofessional. Then do a lookup on the Google machine at what folks in Pittsburgh and Columbus are doing to attract new service. Pittsburgh is talking to Qatar! It's a very long shot but good for them anyway. The carriers aren't going to come to Cleveland begging to start service. I stand by what I said, I do think Hopkins would be run better with a regional authority. Never going to happen though.
  3. Does anyone have any idea how much it would actually cost Cleveland to take over East Cleveland? Also what are some of the benefits, if any, a city gets for having a population of over 400,000? Cleveland and East Cleveland are still losing population. Would the combination be over 400,000 after 2020? Right now their combined populations are around 405K. Correct, I'm not sure if they will be above 400K by 2020 but this gives them a much better chance. If i remember correctly Cleveland lost a measly 500 or so residents, a very small amount. With what would become the "East Cleveland neighborhood" so close to U.C., a booming neighborhood running out of real estate, i believe the flood gates would open and so much development would occur in what was Easy Cleeveland. This could jump start the neighborhood and allow more businesses to have space to build in the city limits. With so much vacant land and abandoned properties, you seemingly are in a midtown situation which allows you a canvas to extend the vibrance feel of UC. With a combination of new business and more land for residential there would be a great chance to build on the 405K population. This is me being an optimist though. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk I hope you are right, I'm just looking at current stats. East Cleveland has lost about 400 people since 2010. Cleveland lost around 1K this last year alone. If Cleveland keeps losing people at the pace it has this decade, it will be below 400k by 2020 even with EC. So any 400k+ benefits would be fleeting. Again, I'd love to be wrong about this.

The Cavs have to basically win four (now three) in a row against a team that didn't lose two in a row until it played 95 games. Media and fans are still going to focus on the Cavs issues and the Warriors are still the better team until proven otherwise. One game isn't going to change everyones mind. Want the chatter to end? Cavs need to win games 4 and 5. If it's 3-2 Cleveland going into game six, the entire focus will be on Golden State's issues. That I guarantee.

Love was getting beat up on the inside against Toronto too but he did bounce back. I thought Love looked decent in Game 1 and that Kyrie was more of an issue. Too much iso and not getting an open look. Nice to see JR Smith actually play a Finals game. It only took 9 tries.
  7. Condor just announced seasonal 2x weekly service to Germany from New Orleans. So another city has Transatlantic service. Does Cleveland think the carriers will come to them? Really wish the city didn't run the airport.

I'm still stunned about the turnaround. I'm not quite sure what to make of this team. Very confused. Here's what I do know: GS has scored 104, 110 and now 90. That's an average of 101 points. The offensive talent on the Cavs can outscore this average on a nightly basis. So if GS continues to score at this pace the title is there for the taking. Not to state the obvious but the offense has to show up consistently. Can it? This has been the Cavs dilemma all season long. RJ is the only player on the Cavs who seems to understand the moment and, yes, that includes LeBron. He was still hustling when Game 2 was getting out of control.

I agree. They're not that bad, especially offensively. Definitely a mental aspect to their poor play. It's like they've all forgotten how to score. They basically have to do the impossible and win four in a row after getting beat down in the first two games. Maybe they can although it's hard to believe at this point.

The TV ratings for the NHL Stanley Cup are so low I'm not sure if it's a major sport anymore. The NBA is just blowing the doors off of the NHL.
  11. Per usual they bash Cleveland bringing up things that happened in what seems like the stone age...Stay classy D.C. Most of the people that comment aren't from DC. Stories like this get linked to other sites and the trolls come out to play.

Know about the Barons too. They lasted about...two weeks? Since we're in the 70s: Anyone that remembers Ted Stepien knows how special it is to see where the Cavs are now. Gilbert is a true saint compared to that clown despite the national media's attempts to still tear Dan down.

While Cleveland teams still haven't won a title since '64 the recent era is certainly better than the past. Between the 29 years of '65-'94, Cleveland didn't even sniff a chance at a title game let alone a title. Those were the real dark years. I'm sure the Gen Xers and the Boomers on here remember there was a talk of a title game curse, especially after the semi-annual beatdown Denver gave the Browns in the late 80s. Cleveland teams have been in 5 title games in the last 21 years (since '95). That's a definite improvement. I'm not counting the MISL or other secondary leagues. So please don't start correcting this with the Crunch or something like that. I'm talking MLB, NBA and NFL. Any, yes, I know the Cavs were formed in '70. Even if you use the 3 team metric it was 24 years with no title games.
  14. They'll show up in October like they always do!
  15. Cleveland, the city or the metro, is not growing. Why not start from an honest place.

Completely agree. I was kind of lost as to what Lue was doing. He looked like a rookie coach last night.

Played fine? Totally agree to disagree Kyrie shot 7 of 22. He made one 3pt shot. He had 26 points but 11 came from the line. Second worst shooting night in these playoffs. Only Game 3 in Toronto was worse. LeBron shot 9 of 21 and also had his second worst shooting night in these playoffs. Only Game 3 of the Pistons series was worse. If two of the big three are going to shoot like this it's over no matter what the bench does. The team missed 26 attempts in the paint and iso ball will not win a title against GS. It was proven, once again, last night. I do agree about JR Smith. He needs to show up.

LeBron and Kyrie tried to be the heroes last night. Most offensive possessions had less than 3 passes. There were way too many turnovers as well. They play like that, they're going to get swept. That being said there were two good signs: Kevin Love was engaged and playing well and the defensive sets, at times, were very effective.

I might be in e minority, but I loved season 1 of the Leftovers and didn't care too much for the second season. The first season was reminiscent of those first few seasons of Lost, which might be my favorite show of all time (no, the ending did not change my mind). Carrie Coon's performance as Nora was one of the best I've ever seen. The theme music fit perfectly. That mannequin scene gave me that feeling like the end of Se7en, where I wanted to hurt those people myself. "Those are not our dogs"... epic ending to the first show. And I appreciated Kevin a lot more when there was so much uncertainty about his sanity. The whole town of Mapleton was just a hair away from snapping all season and that came across well. I was upset when the producers announced a reboot Yeah, I don't have anything against Season 1 but my wife hated it which has probably jaded my view a bit. She thought the Guilty Remnant was over the top. The Patty story arc between the seasons was awesome. I love the subtle way water was used as a link to bridge this existence and the next in Season 2. Fascinating to me. I guess Season 3 will only be eight episodes but I can't complain though. If not for the protests Season 2 would have been it. I loved Lost too even with an ending without all the answers. Both of these shows tie science and the spiritual together in such clever ways. Very unique TV. The Missing, a BBC One/Starz joint venture about a British child who is abducted in France and the events that follow, was another show we enjoyed but I fear the second season will be a big disappointment because it's a complete reboot.

My head says Warriors in six too. I can't go against history. They went 73-9, had a 25 regular season game winning streak and did the almost impossible against OKC. All signs point to the Warriors getting their second title. That being said, Cleburger is right, there does seem to be an intangible with this team I haven't seen with any other. It almost felt like they were practicing with the Eastern Conference teams and I just don't think the Pistons, Hawks and Raptors were that bad. GS has looked very mediocre in these playoffs. I don't care if Curry was hurt and it was a blown call you don't lose one game to that God-awful Rockets team. Even the Blazers looked very 'meh and both GS and Portland got lucky that the Clippers exploded right on cue. The Blazers literally play no defense. The Pistons would have given the Blazers a real series. And even with OKC, GS never looked all that impressive. In fact OKC was the better team by far in their wins, they just choked it all away. You could feel the '97 Indians in every game after they were up 3-1. I mean the final score of Game 7 was 96-88. This was supposed to be the a game where the two "best" teams in the NBA were going to bring it. GS let OKC hang in for soooo long even though OKC could hit nothing in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Again, very 'meh. OKC had a 12 point quarter and GS was at home. That should have been a blowout. We'll see.

The Leftovers Season 2 was just incredible and the best TV I've seen in a long, long time but you have to suffer through a rather pedestrian Season 1 for the setup and it's going to be cancelled after next season. Totally worth it though, IMHO. But the wife and I are weird and with all the options available we're slowly re-watching ye ancient Oz. So take the advice with a grain of salt.

Hts if you're replying to my comments I'm not arguing the Warriors aren't the favorites. They clearly are. This is the 2007 Spurs/Cavs Finals? The Warriors are the 2004 Red Sox crushing St. Louis? Anything is possible but ummmmm, no. And, yes, many media members are disrespecting the Cavs. More than a few think the Chokelahoma series was the NBA Finals. The Cavs should be motivated by this considering how hard they fought this same team last year with multiple injuries. They're being treated as a joke by some.

If the Cavs aren't motivated by how the national media are dismissing them, I don't know what will get them going. It's hard to find anyone who thinks the series will go beyond five games. Some are comparing it to the 2007 Spurs/Cavs Finals. It's honestly amazing considering the Cavs took GSW to six last year without Love, Irving and JR Smith (he wasn't hurt but he was nowhere to be found in last year's finals). It was basically LeBron and Delly against the GSW "superteam". If the Cavs have any sense of individual and team pride they will come out attacking in Game 1. Let's also not forget that Shumpert was playing with one arm and we've had significant upgrades on the bench with Jefferson replacing Marion and Channing Frye replacing Mike Miller. Delly's overall game has improved as well. I did forget about Shumpert. One Fox Sports commentator said that GSW beating OKC was like the Red Sox beating the Yankees in the ALCS where the Red Sox were down 3-0. According to him the Red Sox were destined to win and the World Series against StL was an afterthought. So now the Chokelahoma Thunder are the Late 90s/Early00s Yankees? Oh my lord. The Warriors' press machine puts Trump's to shame! On a side note...I'm happy for Andy. No matter who wins he's going to get a ring.
