Cleveland Guardians Discussion
It was the home opener for the Browns, against a team from 115 miles away. I'd bet 1/3 of the stadium were Steeler fans. If the Browns keep winning, the fans will keep coming. Otherwise, it will tail off quickly as the weather turns for the worst. I've never seen the Browns beg for fans for a Thursday Night home game, as rare as they are for Cleveland. Even so when the Browns were in the middle of a horrific season. I think the Indians deserve better.

You guys completely drifted away from the point. The Indians are on the verge of setting winning history in the MLB. Those are records that go back 100+ years. There have been only two teams that have 17+ game win streaks since 1961. You'd think most of Cleveland would want to experience this. Instead, it looks like most Clevelanders decided to head over to First Energy to watch the Browns continue to lose and lose they did. The Indians organization was on Twitter/Facebook begging fans to show up so Cleveland wouldn't have a half full stadium with a national eye for a close to historic event. Argue what you want about their attendance for the season, these sets of home games should be selling out. The Indians are over 100 years old and this is their first 18 game win streak. It's not going to happen again for a long, long time. The Browns losing ways will likely happen again next week! (Hopefully not)

I don't care about the entire season, I get that people were skeptical in May and June. The Indians are on the verge of history right now and yet everyone filled up First Energy for another "almost win".

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Cleveland needs to support the Tribe more. It really sucks when the 1-15 Browns sell out but the 87-56 Indians are begging people on Facebook/Twitter to come to nationally televised game with a 17-game win streak on the line. I can't blame ESPN for going after ratings. Cleveland deserves what it gets on this front. Over 30k in attendance Friday and Saturday. Attendance is up more than 5k per game over last year, and the Tribe has the 2nd best TV ratings in all of baseball. We're supporting them. Lots of empty seats yesterday for a team on the verge of history. TV ratings are from STO. What about national ratings? I used to remember when the city had no problem filling it to 42K season after season. I was at the game yesterday, it was a great crowd. Tribe's on pace to put almost 500k more butts in the seats compared to 2016. Go a head and continue your spin, I'll keep posting facts. Not spinning. I watched the game on ESPN. Does ESPN own STO? Not doubt the crowd was great but the upper deck was not sold out. The upper deck was sold out on Friday and Saturday. Keep on, keeping on, man.. Right, I'm lying. Even my wife noticed part of the upper deck had no people in it. Are you saying Sunday night was a sellout?

We're talking ESPN, not STO. What are they drawing on ESPN? ESPN/FOX is not going to televise games if they're not getting eyeballs.

Congrats to the Browns for almost beating the Steelers. Is there an "almost win" column in the standings?

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Dobbins didn't look that great to me. He's small and he seemed to run towards the pile than look for an opening. It's early though and the O-line got pushed around a lot in the first half. I still think the jury is out on Barrett and I don't think he can lead this team to a title. As much as Kirk was defending him his progressions are slow. He reminds me a bit of Weeden, you can see him counting and looking at each receiver. Indiana was in control for 2 1/2+ quarters of this game, they just didn't have the athleticism to go the distance. No reason to think, at this point, that Clemson or Alabama wouldn't be in control from beginning to end.

Driverless Cars
It depends. Most of those fleets are either owned by an airline or a ground handling company. To maximize their utility means they are not always doing the same actions at the same gate all day long. Many are shared and move around as the operation does working different types of aircraft. Some also can have quite long trips depending on the size of the airport. It's certainly possible though. I think the bigger issue would be cost. Under the wing is generally where new investments are made last by an airline. There's lots of ground equipment out there that are decades old and held together by tape and bubble gum. If the price tag is too high for airlines and it's going to need to be quite low to beat the current system, no one will invest in it.

Toronto: Developments and News
Residential, no doubt. I think there's more commercial construction going on in the DC area than Toronto though. Capital One is just finishing their 600 ft. tower in Tysons and there is plenty of new office construction throughout the entire region.

When was the last time tOSU opened up with conference play? Been awhile. Basically after Oklahoma it's a snoozefest until Penn State.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Gordon Hayward is a great pick up and I agree that Kyrie is an improvement at PG for them but they don't have LeBron. Defenses aren't going to collapse on Horford and Hayward and Kyrie can't play all 48 minutes. They're betting a lot on their young talent. I have a feeling Kyrie is going to see a lot of hands in his face. Hard to bank off the glass when there are three guys in the key daring Tatum or Horford to shoot from the perimeter. Of course, maybe Kyrie will be energized and find his once almost consistent shot beyond the arc. I'm just not sold the C's are becoming some mega team like the Warriors. I mean ESPN had the audacity to post a picture of Horford with Hayward and Kyrie as some big three combo. Horford can make Houdini look like an amateur at times.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Now that Kyrie bolted Carmelo has been reluctant about coming to the Cavs. He still really wants to play in Houston so I'm not sold. If DRose can be 50% of MVP Rose, which he was last season, and IT can put up close to 2016 numbers, I can't see them winning fewer games than last year even if LeBron rides the bench for a dozen games. In fact LeBron may get more rest now because these guys can probably hold a lead better than when Kyrie was running the point. The national outlets are talking about how brilliant Danny Ainge is yet I'm curious to see how this Celtics team will work. I don't believe Kyrie will change his iso game for Brad Stevens. Gordon Hayward can make his own shot but Al Horford is nothing amazing and the C's talent level falls off pretty fast after him. So defenses will be all over the Kyrie like never before. I'm sure he'll have some amazing games but I bet there will be plenty 7+ turnover games when he's getting triple teamed. I'm not completely sold the C's are the second best team in the East, the Wiz are extremely underrated and have a better PG in Wall who is locked up with the organization. Cavs also struggled with the Wiz in the regular season.

They're regional and coded by the airport they serve. Randall Park will likely be coded something like CLE1. The ones in Columbus are coded CMH1 and 2.

I'd like think this is true but the city has lost roughly 500,000 people over about 65 years.

Cleveland: Rocket Arena (Gund Arena)
Absolutely not! But this deal was negotiated in good faith with Gilbert. He has learned that small forces of loudmouths can sink it. So how willing do you think he'll be the next time around to make the same offer? Those small forces that went to Detroit to protest were not doing themselves any good. This is all political. The people who think that this takes away from investment in the neighborhoods don't get it either. Look at what Dan Gilbert has done for Detroit. He can certainly do more for Cleveland. Investing in some basketball courts and recreational centers? Not even close. I think Cleveland deserves better deals. I am not against this renovation, but Cleveland has been left out to dry too many times. In fairness Gilbert is from Detroit so it makes sense he invests more there. You want to tie the Cavs to investing in Cleveland more, OK I won't argue that. But then we should also ask those folks sitting up on the Heights plateau and beyond looking down on Cleveland to invest more in the city like Gilbert is in Detroit instead of sitting on their hands in Gates Mills or Shaker.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
They've caught up to the Red Sox for the AL second spot. They're about 5 1/2 back of the Astros for the one spot which is amazing in itself considering how each team started the year. They keep playing like this they'll have an outside shot at home field throughout the AL playoffs.

Agreed. "We just need financing to close, then construction will begin immediately." All financing issues now closed three weeks ago... Is financing closed?

IKEA - Cleveland
According to IKEA, 1/3 of the sales at the Pittsburgh store are from NE Ohio. I'm sure Polaris was built in mind to attract more Cleveland shoppers as well. Why would IKEA canabalize these stores when they can sucker so many Clevelanders to drive? They're actions over the last 3 years are screaming this is what they want. There's no site in all of NE Ohio to build an IKEA? Meanwhile they're starting to build second stores in markets Cleveland's size? C'mon. IKEA doesn't respect the market, why do Clevelanders invest in them? They are "trolling" Cleveland big time.
