  1. I do have to say this does look quite nice, I don't see how the GV commission would vote this down. Most of the surface parking will be gone as well which is also an A++
  2. Still not a fan of the metal panning, Just give me ol brick all the way around it and we have a deal. Also, the white cast stone entrance really stands out.
  3. Also a fantastic point if you look at any of the cities on the North West side before you get to close to Detroit or Cleveland (Lima, Marion, Sidney, Piqua, and possibly Findlay?) Either way I think the flight into Schiphol would be the best option due to it's many connecting flights to other countries in Europe / Asia.
  4. I'm very happy to see John Glenn International receiving a brand new world class terminal. With how much Columbus is growing and investments going into the city we really need to get at least 1 or 2 European Direct Flights. Give me Schiphol all year with a seasonal flight to Paris. I'm curious how many folks come in outside of our metro to fly with no real airport options on the east/south east side of the state (unless you go to Pittsburgh).
  5. Drove by this morning on Parsons and counted 3 different work trucks at this site around the old Papa Johns. Hopefully they'll start working on demolition soon.
  6. What a disaster, how do you not have any windows on the sides? Are there even windows on the back?
  7. I'm happy about the height mostly not being an issue, fix the materials and open up the windows and hopefully we will have a winner.
  8. Building is definitely not very appealing..
  9. Went and visited Jaeger Square this morning. Hands down this apartment complex is one of the nicest apartment buildings I have ever step foot in. Great detail throughout, multiple different terrace's and patios, heated garage, office areas, meeting rooms, gym, yoga studio, etc... One of the apartments was open that was for a 560ish square foot studio and it doesn't feel too small with huge closets. They also had plush whales around the building poking fun at the neighbors.
  10. I remember seeing a proposal for a new building at this location.
  11. It's a cool building and sad to see it go, but this area is changing rapidly and the bar clearly isn't getting much business outside of OSU game days and graduation. Developers are wanting to build taller buildings along High St in the densest part of Columbus and we should welcome and encourage these developments.
  12. That'll be the day. Probably still a good 5-7 years out...
  13. Kroger would go to the "future development under existing PCD".... Not a fan at all, but this area is going to rapidly build up.
  14. If they could at least have two sides not expose the parking garage that would be great...
  15. OH GOOD! WE CAN QUICKLY DRIVE IN AND GO TO OUR EVENT AND LEAVE THE CITY!
  16. Agreed, and I've heard multiple times they won't add the on/off ramp due to the proximity of 256 to the Blacklick Exit. There's been plans floated for years adding an overhead ramp, but with increase of homes being built going further east down 204 or Refugee there needs to be a serious plan in place to either add public transportation or another on/off ramp between 256 and Mink st
  17. Besides sunlight, the biggest complaint is "where is everyone going to park". I've walked past this development 20+ times in the past 2 months and there's always open spots on Whittier/Jaeger/Kossuth. Sure it's not fully rented out yet, but I will be touring the building this Friday and look to provide additional photos.
  18. Refugee Road isn't walkable, and homes are so spread out on this side of Pickerington. I can almost guarantee what would go in this development: Meijer, a chipotle, gas station, a pizza place, a jersey mikes or jimmy johns and about 200 apartments spread across 20 buildings. Pickerington never supports multi-use development, I don't see them starting with this development that is entirely impossible to reach without a car (and yes I've ran up and down Pickerington Rd don't recommend it).
  19. If a grocery store operator is selected, I'd imagine this is a done deal and the 14 story proposal would most likely proceed forward. Not my favorite proposal for the site, but still an improvement over the original proposal on the 14 story version.
  20. As much as I loathe the Interstate cutting through downtown and having no other public transportation besides bus service, the interchange being shifted over to Fulton St from the West Side and Mound St (already long completed) from the East Side will be a huge improvement. No more fast paced entrances and exits on 3rd and 4th streets, and once those bridges are capped with buildings on 3rd it will make the connection seamless from downtown to GV/Brewery District. I do like the bridges connecting into downtown better and removing several ramps. The flyover ramp is a bit obnoxious but is a necessity with the new on and off ramps. Whenever the "fix" is done, we need to immediately start on rail transit, it will be used and will be a huge success (at least in my dreams).
  21. Completely agree, the atrium and corner entrance is awesome.
  22. The cap looks great (of course I want to cap the entire 70/71 split) and I'm excited to see a 2-way Livingston Ave. Once the bridges are done, GV & Brewery District will be way better connected to downtown.
  23. Agree with everyone else's input. The balconies are a great touch and the materials look good. Would love to see a green wall cover the parking garages and for the heigh to be bumped up to 18-20 stories.
  24. At it's final height of 382 feet it will surpass the Hilton Tower Downtown to become the tallest building built since 1991 with the completion of the Franklin County Courthouse and become the 11th tallest building (12th once James Cancer Hospital is finished). With more infill on the way, hopefully that includes taller buildings to be built in the 2030's.
  25. Drove down Hudson over the weekend and was impressed with the new streetscape and shared use path. Would love to see this brought to Parsons Avenue and have a bump-out for the bus lane.
