  1. Let's get a pier on the river with a coffee shop. Problem solved.
  2. Ideal situation - 5 story parking garage with condo's/apartments/commercial in front of the garage facing the river. The tower can be vertical and expand on top of the parking garage to be preferably 16+ stories tall. Something similar to the Miranova Condominium building.
  3. Man those towers were an eyesore, wish they could be buried.
  4. That opening could be Dutch Alley, and the city requiring at least a right away? Unsure. I support the vertical construction down Livingston and hope it spreads into German Village.
  5. I believe concrete, was a bit too dark to tell. I'll drive through the area again and get photos for everyone.
  6. I drove through Franklinton this morning and there's massive sidewalk / curb installation going on down State St and McDowell St. Hopefully new roads will follow it soon.
  7. It would be nice to see several larger buildings to house more families. 8-10 stories tall, etc..
  8. I enjoyed the 16 bit on 4th street, I walked by Friday night and the entire place was packed shoulder to shoulder. This location was the best 16 bit in the city due to the setup and games they offered compared to the other locations. Not a fan of it going to Pins but I understand the reasons behind it.
  9. Fantastic! Hopefully we end up with something similar.
  10. Front St might as well be called the parking garage district.
  11. They should. From my understanding, if they capped the entire area it's costly as it would fall under the definition of a tunnel and needing to put ventilation and other safety measures. Same reason the cap over 670 isn't connected from High St to Front St.
  12. North Market Tower is getting the same treatment with several floor of vertical parking followed by offices, hotel rooms, and apartments.. I applaud the new Hilton Tower as there's no additional garage space built for that tower and it adds tons of foot traffic along High St. For this new tower in Fulton park, I think it's okay to build a parking garage and then a tower on top of it as the building will be mostly surrounded. Maybe they can do a compromise and only do 5-6 stories above ground, followed by 16 stories for apartments?
  13. At least the one residential unit that would be surrounded by retail, hall way, and high St. 😂. Turn that into another small commercial space and/or added to the larger commercial footprint.
  14. The name on the project does say "Fulton park". Probably in one of the area's highlighted below, is my guess:
  15. It could be further down the road in a flood zone, hence the need for the 2 floor for Water Conservation. Is it the best? No, but depending where it's built I kind of like it.
  16. https://columbusunderground.com/new-plan-calls-for-16-story-building-at-lane-and-high-bw1/ "A mostly underground parking garage would have space for 72 cars, according to a written description of the project submitted to the city." That is huge, I want more buildings to utilize underground parking instead of doing 1 floor commercial, 6 floors of parking, followed by 5 floors of apartments/offices.
  17. Yeah this is the proposal I was referencing a few weeks back. I'm glad to see it's still in active development. OSU density is the highest in Central Ohio and we will continue to see more large scale development such as this building. I know we don't like to look at development in Austin or Nashville, both are building large scale development of this magnitude right next to their universities.
  18. There's a lot more family and friends going downtown because of these new retail shops on High St at the Nicholas. Sure, the building isn't perfect and a large mass, but in the end it's bringing more activity downtown right along the core. In my sim city head, I would really like to see Atlas Apartment parking lot redeveloped to feature 2 different buildings at varying heights (12 story / 16 story) with nice facades. Plus, redeveloping the Federal building on High and Spring. Spring - Nationwide is an absolute dead zone after 5 pm and would love continual activity from the Statehouse to the convention center.
  19. Don't mind that it's not a 30 story tower. Decent size infill and removing a surface lot is a huge win. Do I prefer for this to be different size buildings tightly mixed in with several businesses and shops, of course, but that will come with time.
  20. I'm glad it'll be two separate buildings instead of one giant behemoth. It's a shame to lose little bar, but the redevelopment of campus seems inevitable. Now, let's get rid of the CVS standalone store and go with the proposal for the 16 story mixed use building.
  21. not to mention your within walking distance of Freedom a la carte, Wolfs Ridge, Jackie O's, Pins, Slammers, all of gay st, capital building and a short bike ride from the Scioto Mile and Arena District. Plenty of entertainment, businesses, food within walking distance of your place. Now give me a grocery store!
  22. IDK what they're thinking, adding 3 more lanes next to a freeway in each direction will create a further divide of the neighborhoods.
  23. ODOT is following TXDOT too closely.. Nothing says pedestrian oriented like a 35 mph freeway next to the freeway. Secondly, I don't understand why they built a new ramp from Broad St to 71 S and then put barriers up, is this supposed to be a temporary entrance once construction happens on the Oak St and Town St bridges?
  24. I'm trying to figure out how this is going to fit with the Broad St Exit Ramp.... See below:
