Have you been to Uniqlo or Primark? If you have, you would not be wishing for it to come to Easton.

Leases expire and new tenants may be willing to pay more for a more visible location, or a tenant may no longer need as much space but still wants a presence in the market.- Cleveland: Retail News
Interesting. That would be a great spot too.- Cleveland: Retail News
Does anyone know where Arhaus is relocating at Crocker Park? I would not be surprised if it was the Barnes & Noble space. This would give Arhaus a more visible presence and allow for a two-story store since the upstairs space is listed "for lease".- Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
Wawa or Sheetz would never build at Steelyard because it would take 5-10 minutes to get off the freeway and another 5-10 minutes to get back on the freeway after buying gas.- Cleveland Heights: Development and News
I've been to their new locations in Boardman and they had one cashier with about 15 people impatiently waiting in line. It's more like Sav A Lot or Aldi with deals on name brand, closeout items stacked in boxes. Hopefully with the public financing subsidy, the Cedar Fairmount store will be remodeled but don't expect anything fancy based on Boardman. It will draw people from a much wider area because of lower prices than the new Meijer on E105 so the parking will be a bit of a mess. Better than having an empty building.- Lakewood: Downtown: CASTO Development
The grocery tenant deal tanked because the City would not permit Casto to increase the size of the retail/commercial component of the project because of parking and the desire to have new housing stock in the City. The City also wants small shop retail to bring in some national fast casual restaurants who would love to be in Lakewood because of the density and demographics. An urban format Meijer, Fresh Thyme or Trader Joe's would have been nice to force Giant Eagle to fully upgrade their store. Any ideas where else one of these smaller grocery stores could locate?- Cleveland: Downtown: Tower at Erieview & Galleria Renovation
- Westlake: Crocker Park
Why is DSG moving from Crocker? I would have thought the Crocker store would be better performing than Great Northern even though Great Northern is a larger building built by Galyan's Sporting Goods.- Cleveland Heights: Development and News
I knew when they no longer had the veal meatloaf on the menu that it was only a matter of time....- Cleveland Heights: Development and News
Even with the renovation, it still was not about the food. Very disappointing menu and spotty service. They even got rid of the veal meatloaf.- Cleveland: Hotels, Conventions, and Tourism News & Info
Columbus has a very vibrant urban retail scene in the Short North one block from its convention center which is missing from Cleveland. This adds to the draw of Columbus over Cleveland during convention downtime. Professional sports venues, Playhouse Square and the Rock Hall are phenomenal draws but not close to the Cleveland convention center. Like it or not, retail adds vibrancy and a big city feel to Columbus that Cleveland does not have.- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Am I the only person who is underwhelmed by the lighting design? I hope the renderings are the issue and the real thing will be much more dramatic.- Senator Sherrod Brown
I stand corrected. I have new hope for a Bernie Moreno victory.- Senator Sherrod Brown
Then why is Bernie Moreno who owned car dealerships to blame? This commercial is ridiculously stupid and meant to get votes in the Youngstown/Warren area which is reliably Democrat.- Senator Sherrod Brown
I never heard of a single thing Sherod Brown did until this contested election. He blames Bernie Moreno when he was a car dealer who sold foreign cars for the loss of GM in Lordstown. He was a senator with immense power to keep GM in Ohio. What did he do? Nothing. Why blame Bernie? I just saw him advocating for a Coast Guard station in Ashtabula. WOW!! Must not have been any kittens for him to rescue today.- Orange Village: Pinecrest
Mini Macy's?- Cincinnati: Retail News
I would rather they roll out small format Bloomingdale's locations in upscale markets rather than additional bland Macy's locations.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
I would like to know who the feasibility consultant is who is telling Haslam that people will suddenly flock to Brook Park to live, shop or hang out if a domed stadium is constructed there. It isn't going to be a draw like Allegiant or So-Fi because of the limited size of the Cleveland market and smaller budget. it is unlikely to draw from other established areas of downtown and adjacent neighborhoods or Greater Cleveland except on game dates or the occasional concert or monster truck show large enough to fill a stadium. Not many national retailers or restaurants would locate near there because the factors retailers look at are not favorable in the immediate area (no offense to the locals). There is already competition in Strongsville, North Olmsted, Westlake and Parma where retail and restaurants would need to draw from in order to justify the cost to build and operate. Retail and restaurant businesses are also contracting overall so an expansion into this area is a stretch. Extensive environmental clean-up of this site will be necessary in order to build housing and such remediation would be very expensive and take a long time to accomplish given bureaucratic requirements. I'm sure young professionals (who apartment owners typically would target) would rather be in Brook Park than near the lake, Tremont, Ohio City, University Circle or downtown and let's not forget about the airport noise. The Brook Park stadium plan is an obvious bluff but necessary negotiating ploy to motivate non-business minded City politicians to take a long-term view of what is best for the City of Cleveland. Haslam knows what the Titans are getting with their new domed stadium in Nashville and wants a similar deal (if not better than the 33% cost sharing the Titans are paying). Even though this location doesn't make logical sense, people need to stop worrying about making a billionaire team owner even richer and bite the bullet to negotiate for a downtown location. Although fortunate enough to still support three major league sports teams that are a great source of civic pride and spin off business from regional tourism, we cannot afford to take this for granted. Unfortunately, this is how the business of professional sports is played. Burke reuse would be a game changer for the City and everyone who has any say in this decision must give in a little to make it happen. Mayor Bibb cannot afford to call Haslam's bluff and risk being remembered as a one-term mayor who lost the Browns to a suburb- Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
One minute people are begging for density and when there are the beginnings of an urban neighborhood, people say we need green space!- Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
Congratulations to the Ratners for this world class building that will attract snowbirds back to Cleveland during the Florida off=season and keep empty nesters in the area. If upscale hi-rise housing is not available in the Cleveland area, people will leave the area entirely and find someplace else to live that does. The success of this development will likely lead to future phases of Van Aken District, including other types of multifamily housing catering to other income levels as well as other office, retail and recreational uses that further TOD goals.- Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
I just realized from the photo in the post above how much the Detroit Superior Bridge closely resembles the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Our architectural treasure deserves more respect as a significant local landmark and should be dramatically lit at night. The lit bridge would also reflect nicely in the new SW Tower. - Cleveland: Retail News
